  1. This is the kind of conviction that I can get on board with.
  2. Skindred were brilliant last year, can't recommend them enough. If it's true, according to the Clashfinder, they're headlining Saturday night, I would be tempted to see them again. IDLES would be the other draw that night who I've never seen, so would prob go to see them, but still Skindred, great booking for Avalon! Other than that, would give Baby Queen, BC Camplight, the Go! Team (for the nos-hit), and Lulu (mega-nos-hit) a view if absolutely nothing else was on, but in general, it's a pass from me.
  3. Cheers, Mike! I'll be watching from afar knowing you're having a blast getting your chakra topped up in the Greenpeace Field every morning, haha 🍻
  4. Unfortunately, I'm 100% ruled out this year. I didn't have a second thought in the New Year after I dodged Oct sales, but I think I'm gonna have to wait until the kids are older and we all go as a fam.
  5. With all the drops yet to come, I'm getting secondhand excitement for all you lucky ticketholders!
  6. Yeah, love it. Once all the announcement threads are over, the weather thread becomes a psychologist's dream into the highs and lows of the human spirit.
  7. Can't believe this thread is only sitting on a total of 12 pages. Come early June this thread will be the hottest thing north of the equator.
  8. I'm personally devastated there's no Amazon Lockers next to the Pyramid to handily pick up my picnic blankets and chairs, no American Express queue jump for the Co-op, and nowhere I can sign up for the latest Google Pixel in the Green Fields. Not even a throne made out of Adidas shoes in Carhenge. I mean, Christ, this is meant to be the primo-festival in the word isnitit?!
  9. Would they be a good fit for the Legends slot? Probably for nostalgic, as opposed to, quality reasons. Would they pack the field? Probably to Craig David levels. Would I be there? Absolutely f**king not.
  10. And Rhianna as well after she had to pull out previously. Both Swift and Rhianna have agreed to do it in the past so unless they now deem Glasto too low of a priority, they should both pop up in the next couple of years.
  11. I'm not going this year, but there's plenty on there I would be excited about or are just plain fun. I wish some of them had played last year when they were rumoured before! IDLES, LCD Soundsytem, Coldplay, Dua Lipa, PJ Harvey, Cyndi Lauper, The Streets, Avril Lavigne, Confidence Man, Justice, Black Pumas, Yard Act, The Breeders... SZA is a bit weak, but who gives a f**k? She'll have a smaller crowd, but I'm sure the people there will have a blast and everyone else will be elsewhere enjoying whoever.
  12. Lol 😁 And I'm definitely not a young 'un anymore, haha.
  13. Nah, that wasn't the one. It wasn't an island in the middle of a field, not covered in clothes, and there was zero recycling/charity vibe going on or any printing workshop stuff. The stuff in the one you're posting is clearly a charity effort, but the one I was in was totally different - looked up-market, Dalston-type fare. I'll try and find it online, but pretty much everyone who was duped into going in turned around and left instantly. The people exiting before I went in were like, "It's literally just a shop." I thought they were joking and went in anyway, then said the same thing when I left, which didn't do anything to deter the next people going in. I think the cycle prob went on like that. EDIT: Had I actually stumbled across the one you mentioned I prob would've made something for kids, they love that kind of stuff.
  14. Just to resurrect this thread. I had a question. Does it actually matter if you see the performers themselves on the stage if you know you're at the gig anyway? Like, I could barely see Elton John, I was pretty central, past the two sound stages. Couldn't see hardly at all. He was sat down behind a piano for 90% of it. I doubt most of the crowd saw him much at all. But did it matter?
  15. Heck, neither Mumford or Kasabian or Kendrick or Metallica wrecked the festival. All of them either had small "clout" or small numbers in the field on the night. I don't think King's of Leon would be asked to headline as first choice, but it's not like smaller headliners have been uncommon the last 30 years. Think we were lucky last year to have two massive heritage headliners and Arctics, but it won't be like that every year.
  16. I remember back in 2010 or 2011, we stumbled into a venue where everyone was dressed as nurses and doctors. Had to do shots out of syringes. Was great. Spent about half an hour there talking to the people. They loved it when people came in and they could do their care schtick/act, the excitement of newbies coming in was great as their faces realised what was going on. The place was tiny too, perhaps 20 foot square. Miss those days. We stumbled into one venue in the SEC this year thinking it was a cool hangout, it was just a hole in the wall and you had to wait your turn to get in. Was a right let down when we realised it was some w*nky hipster shop selling clothes. Left immediately.
  17. Not only young people, but middle-aged dads. Was sat at CarHenge last year on my tod having brunch and eavesdropped on a trio of 45 year olds talking problems with their life (lots of stress with kids, wives, investments etc etc), all openly doing coke with their morning cuppas.
  18. Would love to see Altin Gun appearing on the farm. Sunset slot or subbing? They're in Hamburg May 25 and sticking around in Europe until at least July 20th.
  19. It's certainly an odd 'un this year round. Altho I'm sure there's been years when it's been this late before that not even one headliner has been announced yet, it does feel later than usual. Dua/Coldplay/Stevie would be a cracking set of headliners though. I'm not sure Stevie could be topped from 2010, so I wouldn't want to revisit, but for those who missed out, what a great second chance. Dua I could take or leave, but undoubtedly she's popular enough. Coldplay are on my wishlist as someone I've never seen live. Their shows look spectacular and they're a real farm favourite.
  20. WHEN IS THE FIRST HEADLINER ANNOUNCEMENT ALREADY!?
  21. Tbf, I saw ME murder Happy Birthday back in 2010.
  22. I suppose I could get an old rust bucket for a few hundred quid, drive the 10 hours and take the ferry, and stop at every rest stop and purchase massive bratwurst... it's tempting, I'll give you that 😅
  23. From my perspective, I don't see it as being that bad if people want to fly one or two times a year. If they don't eat a lot of meat, don't drive or own a car, then they offset that. Depends on your definition of necessary. I don't see cars as being necessary - haven't owned one for about 14 years and even then I only had that one for two years (I'm 38 fwiw). I don't see eating meat every day as necessary. Or bringing a coffee machine to Glastonbury with a bazillion battery packs to power it. I do however fly about 2-3 times a year back to the UK to see family and I'm okay with that.
  24. Farming produces more emissions than all cars, lorries, and vans in the whole EU bloc. Both produce far more emissions than planes. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/sep/22/eu-farm-animals-produce-more-emissions-than-cars-and-vans-combined-greenpeace
