  1. West Holts has always been my preferred place to hangout if I've got no one in particular to see. It's generally had the music I like the most, so it's a safer bet I'll catch something there to vibe with. Having said that, this year I barely saw anyone there. Maybe three acts during the day and no headliners for the first time in six fests. For context, in previous years, 12/15 headliners had been on WH. But when it comes to headliners, I couldn't care less where people are playing or on what stage. It's just all about who I wanna see the most at that time. This year, Hot Chip on Woodsies, GnR & Elton on Pyramid, all three were absolutely mint. They could have been on the Park, Other, and the Rabbit Hole, and I'd of still been there.
  2. Hey all, is there gonna be an FPL league set up this season? There was one last year, would be fun to join it again.
  3. "It's a Thriller in Tucquilla!" Haha. Great line, bet he'd been saving that up all night. Well played, Ballard. Everyone loves a 93rd minute winner.
  4. I can only imagine the octave level gets turned to 11 when her, Lizzo, and all the dancers are having a great day in the studio.
  5. I'm sure she's not a twat all the time though and I'm sure if she was still out in quasi-public going through gates backstage, she might not let rip, plus also might just find it funny as she's meant to be the known "talent" etc. What she's like behind doors could be an entirely different kettle of fish, and even then, I'm sure she's not an arsehole all the time.
  6. It's in Japan so actually looks likely to be a giant Freddie Kaiju on stage instead.
  7. I've had a bit of a sabbatical from eFests, but this thread is one of my favourites. Lots of conjecture, but a great way to find out new bands and/or imagine where they'll be playing so you can fantasise in your mind about your own personal fest.
  8. His stylist would've just lacquered on another layer of this mid-set a la Lana.
  9. I have downloaded all the sets from BBC iPlayer to keep my memories alive during the autumn and winter as I contemplate if I'll even give '24 a go.
  10. Military propaganda? Imperialism? I think it's a disservice to make such wild (and lazy) statements of a military that, if removed, would signal the end of Britain as you know it. It's not exacly the rebirth of the Empire, is it? I'll wait for your next comment lathered in buzzwords of jingoism, nationalism, far-right, blah blah blah.
  11. I was walking back from my tent, passing the Co-op to go take a shower. Feel like a lot of people around me didn't even realise/look up.
  12. If anyone would like to save the downloads to extend the 30 day limit, I'm using this -
  13. Maybe I'm a little excited, but she was really great and pulled a big crowd for an early afternoon slot. She's def getting a bump if she returns.
  14. I just wanna know what bedtime/morning routine Brandon has. The man never ages.
  15. Good post and I agree in general - although there's been some small crowds on the Pyramid over the years, e.g. Kendrick, Radiohead, but those last two names (Timberlake/Aguilera) would surely be better as a Legend or fun sub, than anything else.
  16. Yep, is true. It makes me chuckle a bit that people think Lil Simz is in contention, yet rule out Foals completely. Foals have a big fanbase already, plenty of commercial hits that people know, and know and love the festival. The only thing holding them back, in my opinion, is that in the criteria of Pyramid headliners and the thirst for genre diversity, there are bigger "guitar" bands ahead of them.
  17. Glad you had a good time mate. Agree on pretty much everything you've said.
  18. CMAT was absolutely excellent. She looked like she loved it as much as the crowd did. She must have done enough to get bumped up for next year. Park, Friday night headliner. You heard it here first!
  19. Easily DJ Yoda in Stonebridge on Friday, followed by Dimension on Friday night. Two totally different genres, but both absolutely epic.
  20. Seems a lot of inflatable dinosaur costumes to carry in. Certainly wouldn't want to be stuck in one of them too long. What was the pink meet up as well? I was wearing a pink t-shirt when it was on and felt the gravitational pull to walk up the field to my own kind, but then the heat was too much and I went searching for shade instead.
  21. Great pics, mate! But what the heck is happening with the dinosaurs? What's that all about?
  22. Really can't ever seeing Lil Simz rising up either, not unless she releases some more commercial hits, tracks more in-line with Venom, but even then she'd need at least two more albums to get up there.
  23. Fair play. The Pyramid trio isn't ever going to please everyone, and tbh, that's the way it should be. If you spend each night at the Pyramid for the headliners, you miss out on some really great alternative headliner slots. It was a bit out of character that I was there two out of the three nights this year, but never had any interest in seeing Arctics. Hot Chip were absolutely blindin'.
