  1. Blimey, the visuals at Afterlife do look awesome.
  2. Oh and the visuals behind the bands on the main stages have improved A LOT, lol.
  3. The biggest difference I noticed since my last time in 2017 to 2023 was how busy it was. I remember being able to find a quiet moment walking back from SEC to my tent at 3am, but in 2023 there were just people everywhere all the time. Even in the "quiet" fields like Green Futures, Healing Field etc. Other than that, it's pretty much the same, aside from some of the venues had made way for new ones. Oh, there's a Co-op now which is very handy if you can avoid the queues.
  4. Personally, I choose to embrace. Leading up to the festival I watch vlogs of the years I went, looking out for things acts I saw and reminisce. I've already watched a couple from last year, currently watching the GnR set. For the actual weekend I'll check in during the evening after the kids are in bed, crack open a couple of cans and catch up on highlights and then watch live. At the end of the day, you tried your best to be there, and it's gutting to miss out, but you know you'll (very likely) get to go again and it was out of your control that you missed out this year. You can avoid it too if that helps, but as others said, might just compound your misery even more.
  5. Faithless, Fatboy Slim, Camelphat, Groove Armada, Goldie, K Klass, Afriquoi, Nubiyan Twist, Yung Singh...
  6. I don't think I've ever forgotten who I actually saw, but I have seen sets and questioned my judgement to see who I actually saw. It's the bitterness of a clash when the one you plump for turns out to be average and the one you missed turned out to be brilliant.
  7. But is this including headliner announcements, because we've usually had a couple before Christmas, or one around November, one just after the new year?
  8. That's a pretty cool website. When I checked just now though, it's changed slightly. Is it personalised for each person? On the Spotify app it says "Made for (my name)", but it's also supposedly the official Glastonbury playlist. Mine is below. Electronic has jumped up massively, possibly since Shangri-La got announced?
  9. But of course, there is no pattern... Expecting April to be rammed with one a day then nothing in May at all...
  10. How much ket had you done before Paul came on? Lol.
  11. So, now all the tickets have gone, who's gonna be watching from home? I'm already planning on buying a couple of six packs of Brooklyn Pilsner and catching up/flicking through the stages live. Might even treat myself to a rum-shake if the weather perks up a bit 😅 Couple of years ago, there were quite a few people chatting and watching together through eFests. Wasn't quite the same to put it lightly, but good fun if you're not too gutted about missing out. Also, it's enjoyable to be able to flick through the stages if something brilliant is happening and you don't have to traipse through mud to check something out.
  12. West Holts used to be (and prob still is) a standard go to before I became more organised. My top 5 now would be: 1. West Holts 2. Other 3. SEC 4. Woodsies 5. Other
  13. That's quite a brilliant summary, lol. It's not quite clear if it's even a positive or negative. Indie music - "Crapping in a yurt music"
  14. For the purpose of the anecdote, both would work out fine.
  15. Caught the end of Bobby Friction's Bhangra All Stars last year before Skindred. Was brilliant, had the crowd jumping. According to the article, "The space at Glastonbury has been described as "an alien jungle planet"." Sounds like fun! Should fit right in to SEC.
  16. LAWKS! All the tickets have gone now... What's coming next? Glade?
  17. This reminds me of a friend visiting Reading for the first time in 2005, woke up next to a human turd. No one knows who it was from or why, but the story has become a consistent anecdote in our group of friends ever since. EDIT: I should add, said friend never returned to Reading again.
  18. Buzzing for you mate! That feeling when you get tickets at the last possible chance is unparalleled. I had tears in my eyes this time last year when we got them in the main resale.
  19. Do you really think her fans wouldn't shown up based off of your own opinion of one album?!
  20. So, I've not read the last 20 pages. What are we saying? Taylor for the Relevant lads? Madonna for Heritage crowd? Neil Young for the Crusties crew?
  21. Had no idea they did DJ sets. Something new to search for over the weekend, cheers! Their 2017 show was unreal. We walked up to the barrier, couldn't believe how easy it was, barely 200 people there sitting around in front of the stage when they began. We'd listened to them quite a bit before and expected to squeeze in around the sound tent. Half an hour later the field was rammo just from their energy and tunes drawing ppl in.
  22. Normally, I wouldn't recognise any names on there, but thanks to the help of others leading upto 2023, I know a few, lol. Camelphat, Ewan McVicar for starters. Afriquoi were brilliant in 2017 on WH, can't recommend them enough. I'm in the tie-dye on the barrier to the left.
