  1. Does the festival make much, if any, money from WV, Stinklitch and car parking? Pretty sure none of it is on the Eavis' land so I would assume the majority of money made goes to then landowner with maybe a royalty going to the festival for promoting.
  2. Don't you mean Graham? Andy passed away last year.
  3. Travel impact on Saturday is going to be more severe than I thought, I thought I could use London Overground to get to and from the festival from Croydon but it's stopping at 18:00. Decided to sell my Field Day ticket rather than deal with the travel chaos, got 50 quid for it and sold quite quickly via Twickets.
  4. Anyone know which of the stages at Field Day are in tents and which are open air?
  5. I got 2-4-1 tickets for Field Day, sold my spare for £55 within minutes via Twickets a week or so ago which should give people an idea of how much they're going for on there.
  6. I have something on in the day so not sure what time i'll get there, must get there for Ride though one of my favourite bands from back in the day. I think Brdmm supported Ride on their recent tour.
  7. Yeah me too, I want to see Ride really but i'll give RA a go - does he play Verve songs?
  8. Thanks for this, was hoping something like this would come along.
  9. £6.50 tickets available via Central Tickets.
  10. I'll have a spare Field Day ticket for half price if anyone is looking for one.
  11. He had a band playing with him at his Shangri-La (Truth Stage?) set this year. Not sure he'd work on a main stage set though, not sure he'd get the crowd. I get the impression that when he plays G it's the same people going to every set rather than a new crowd every time.
  12. The ticket would have been for the double bass player, I already had a ticket, but he chose not to use it so didn't go in the end.
  13. Found out in 2019 that locals can sign their tickets over to someone else for the day. We heard this from a mate and we didn't believe it at first but apparently it's true. My mates have a band that had lined up some gigs for 2019, including the Bimble Inn and Avalon Cafe, but their double bass player didn't get a ticket so they asked me if i'd play the double bass for them. The only problem was that i'd never played that instrument before. The double bass player is involved in racing some specific type of old racing car and at one of their events he meets a Pilton local to whom he explains the predicament and this guy offers to sign his ticket over to my mate so he could play. In the end my mate didn't take him up on it, maybe because I worked really hard for a month learning how to play the double bass and it would have been for nothing if I didn't get to play the gigs.
  14. Good point, I forgot about actual crew/performers.
  15. This /\, Orchard is the name of a T&C backstage camping area. A T&C backstage pass consists of a papery type wristband, no laminate.
  16. Do you know on what site these were?
  17. Anyone seen any cheap tickets for Richard Ashcroft at Crystal Palace?
  18. There's an entrance to Avalon through the markets from Greenpeace, did they close this off?
  19. Crew can be quite a loose term. In 2019 I had a crew wristband as I played with a band that year who did a set in one of the backstage/crew bars. As well as the band we were also able to get crew wristbands for some of our mates who were also already in the festival. I was able to access 2 other crew bars with the wristband I had, didn't try any others. Similar happened this year, a mate played one of the backstage/crew bars during the festival and got me and some more of his mates crew bar wristbands. I didn't try this year but I'm pretty sure I would've been able to access l other crew bars with my wristband. At the end of the day, crew bars need to sell drinks - the more people that can access the more they can make.
  20. I thought this thread was about making this affordable and fair for people, it's not very fair penalising people with higher fees who weren't lucky enough to get tickets in the first sale. People have been saying there should be a payment plan to help people spread the cost over x number of months and now you're saying people should pay the full price in one go plus a premium on top to buy a last minute ticket. If people afford to do that then why is a payment plan needed?
  21. Very little of that would end up in the festival's pockets though. The festival would be putting up the money to pay for a system that food vendors and bars would reap the profits from.
  22. This is a good idea. I guess the only reason they don't do it is that it'll cost money to implement for no extra return for the festival. I guess they could charge an admin fee for the ticket returner though but you can't really charge the buyer any more in admin fees that you charge a first time ticket buyer.
  23. I think the weather had something to do with this, and the desperation to get back to the farm after Covid. It was forecast to rain from Friday so folk wanted to get there early to enjoy a couple of days of sun.
  24. With Glasto though it's going to sell out every year, what you'll get is people who can't afford a £500 ticket buying one to guarantee getting a ticket.
