  1. The message is for the aliens.
  2. I was actually stickleball. No canopies there, just a crappy tatted gazebo that slowly fell apart as the week went on and eventually gave up when a gust of wind blew it into the security campsite. Was a godsend during that rain on Wednesday though
  3. One of the good things about working in Sticklinch is getting the lift back. Replacement usually arrives slightly early cos they got a lift down, quick handover (there's never much to handover) then jump in the shuttle back. Can be in bed by 5 on a good day.
  4. Just found out a lad I used to work with is the Tory candidate for my constituency. Seemed a nice enough guy (for a Tory) but a bit dim. But I could also imagine him having some fairly awful views. Rural posh boy.
  5. Ah, that makes sense. I was looking there but couldn't see it.
  6. Meant to say 'Stickleball Gate, not Sticklinch. Also, where's the edit function gone?
  7. Thanks! Yeah, it was pretty significant for me. Really highlighted that this was a permanent lifestyle change rather than just a "diet". Just got a totally different mindset
  8. Hello from Sticklinch Gate! My new home it would seem.
  9. Generally I've been staying low level as the wind has been crazy but I've managed to get up a few fells and struggled to stand on a couple of occasions. Theoretically it should count for something, but I just have to be so careful with the blood sugars. My understanding is I've put right some of the damage done and so my body should be able to cope with a, for want of a better term, normal carb/sugars intake. But it's not just how much I eat, it's what I eat. I guess we'll see.
  10. Good work both of you. Interesting time for this to pop back up. I've got my annual diabetes review tomorrow. I mean, technically I don't have diabetes anymore but I'm more at risk and I still get the reviews to make sure I'm still OK. Be interesting to see what my numbers are now. I'm maintaining my weight and getting plenty of exercise in still (mostly in the form of hiking still. 122 of 214 Wainwrights ticked off now) but not being nearly as strict as I was with the diet, with a few more carbs creeping in, even sugary treats. Essentially I want to see what happens. Whether having repaired some of the damage done I can have a slightly more "normal" diet or whether I have to keep being strict. Basically I'm conducting a bit of an experiment on myself. Not sure how my GP will feel about it but be interesting to see. Had an odd December. Was signed off for most of it with work related stress. But, on the positive side, I didn't revert to my bad old ways, carried on eating (mostly) healthily and made a point of getting out for a decent walk each day, no matter how grim the weather. And f**k me it was grim some days.
  11. Stunning. Going to be with me for a while, this one.
  12. I mean you can say this about everything she's in but worth it for Jodie Comer's performance alone
  13. Rewatching Walking Dead? Bloody hell. Who hurt you? That was a proper hate watch for me by the end.
  14. I'm going to go with oversight or someone f**ked up. Usually explains most things
  15. For some reason, eFestivals is no longer blocked at work.
  16. You apply to do a specific role
  17. It looks superb. Unfortunately I'm not sure I'm going to get chance to see it before it leaves my local cinema. Same with The Holdovers and One Life. So many good films out at the moment. Will try to make time for one of them next week.
  18. Oh, yeah, it is different. And like I said, I'm absolutely not going to do that. I probably value the convenience over the comfort I've probably had mates over the years that I wouldn't trust to do that

Definitely at some point in the next 5 months
  20. As a small van owner I sort of agree but not enough to actually care. And I appreciate it just adds an extra layer of bureaucracy which frankly they don't need. I do now wonder if they'll look at introducing a car park charge in the future. Someone did make a similar point to one I'd made when I first posted this. I'll be driving down in my van whatever as it's my only vehicle. I could then park it in the car park and set up a tent not much smaller than my van for free. Ultimately taking up more space. I mean I'm not going to do that. I love the fact I don't have to pack away a tent and all my stuff on Monday morning. I can just drive off and deal with it all some time after getting home. That alone is worth £35 as far as I'm concerned. I stopped using an awning before they were banned for that very reason.
  21. Disappointingly not much kicking off going on
  22. It also accepts Google Pay if that helps you speed things up Although that won't help others help you unless it's someone you know who can pay on their own card and you pay them back

It's bad enough knowing the line up. Then maybe finding out you wouldn't have had clashes either would be even worse!
