  1. The shuttle bus is free again now. Paid for by the charge for taking a van.
  2. That's what they want you to think.
  3. Glastonbury is, as ever, a very different and much bigger beast, but I managed to get on the same shift pattern as my mates for Womad one year when I only got my spot a few days before the festival. Was fully expecting not to so was a pleasant surprise to pick up the shift sheets. And that was with 4 other people, one of whom was a deputy shift leader and two were supervisors.
  4. Christ, how much would it cost for a plane to pick you up at your house?
  5. Did he present it to the losing team by mistake?
  6. Could be wrong here but I think there's two. One crew and one artists. Some fellow stewards I met got into the crew bar one year, then they found themselves in a different bar with a load of drinks laid out. They helped themselves to a couple then went looking for somewhere to pay but couldn't find anyone. It slowly dawned on them what they'd done. I assume they then helped themselves to a few more. As they left they noticed security who weren't there when they came in. Good accidental blag. (I could be remembering some of the details incorrectly, it was a few years ago.)
  7. And anywhere half decent usually has INSANE queues. Unfortunately good coffee is only going to get more and more expensive. Arabica in particular is particularly at risk from climate change.
  8. That really does emphasis just how far there Oxfam field is from Sticklinch. God I hope I'm not working there this year.

    Taking a baby

Don't have kids myself, but talking to friends who do and just having seen the place myself I'd agree that Womad would be a good choice for young kids
  10. I was on statins for a while when I was diagnosed with type 2. My cholesterol wasn't even particularly high but like so much with diabetes it put you at higher risk. Decided to come off them when I went into remission
  11. I was not happy that he was Pulp's support in Manchester last year. Pretty much lived down to expectations
  12. Looking at some of the names on there it has to be
  13. Latitude genuinely weirded me out with all that stuff.
  14. I'm 90% sure I've seen Cut Capers at a festival somewhere and if it's who I'm thinking of then a lot of fun live is a great description
  15. And I dread to think of the state of the first toilet he encounters on Monday after he's used it.
  16. Got chatting to a couple of girls in the toilet queue once who told us about their male friend who just stood up in front of everyone at their camp and just pissed himself. Wasn't even drunk. He just wanted to do it. Some people do go a bit feral.
  17. From the ones I've met I assumed that was the main criteria
  18. Pretty much my thinking. Depending on what's going on elsewhere I could either spend loads of time there or pretty much none at all. And I'd be fine with both options
  19. I've just discovered there's a Queen tribute act from Newcastle called 'We Are Champion' which did make me smile. I can only hear it being said in Sarah Millican's voice
  20. Man, I wish I had a fraction of her self confidence
  21. We're gonna need a bigger stick
  22. Don't really know any of his solo stuff but I do like what he did with Jesse Buckley.
  23. Lucky Saint seem to be cornering the festival AF market. (Beyond your Becks Blue, Heineken for offerings) Luckily it's one I like. Not my favourite, but a good solid choice. Seen it at a few places now, including on tap at Bearded Theory a couple of years ago. Don't know if it was there last year
  24. I've got a weird affection for Tuborg. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's awful, but it's connected to a particular time of my life that I have very fond memories of. Admittedly that time was over 20 years ago and I stopped drinking over 10 years ago so so I've got no actual memory whatsoever of how bad it is.
