  1. I mean at this stage you've just got to admire the persistence really
  2. This place is definitely at its best when people are making the same two points back and forth for 17 pages
  3. Few friends have. Don't know how much, sorry, but it ain't cheap. They generally had a pained expression when talking about it. At least not from foot pain though.
  4. I assume he's directing that to Pritti Patel. Imagine using the word 'humanitarian' in that context. And not sarcastically
  5. Being able to go for a walk after work. Good news.
  6. Not sure the number of festivals they are doing has any real bearing on a website payment issue for a minority of people. It would've been a problem whether they were doing one or 50. They've been doing about this many, give or take, for a while now.
  7. I looked at the replies. Why did I look at the replies? I should know better. Horrific. And that's just the grammar.
  8. I'm the same. I also have a policy of not trying to swap shifts, no matter who I'm missing. Just go with the flow. You see some people b getting so stressed over it. This policy may be tested at Bearded Theory this year though.
  9. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, could've been in relation to potential problems with international travel?
  10. I've had B for the last few years. Mostly suits. Missing the headliners and late fun on Saturday is a pain but it is what it is. And it's the only bit of the weekend proper that we miss.
  11. Thanks for the heads up. Would've passed me by otherwise. Very enjoyable so far (2 episodes in)
  12. Early Late Night Weds A B C Thurs D E A Fri B C D Sat E A B Sun C D E Its basically that. Although most will be on that pattern not everyone is. I've seen all manner of variations, from people with just two shifts, to people with 3 shifts on the Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
  13. I know what you mean, but I hadn't seen mine for 4 years by that point so it would've been rude not to visit
  14. I'm 90% sure my mate was working there, in which case you would've taken over from him as we had the shift pattern before that
  15. Good point. Forgot about that. Managed to get early shift for latitude last year, but that only means arriving Tuesday with a shift on Wednesday. Did make it more like Glastonbury though, with the two done before the weekend
  16. Unless you get early shifts (arrive the Saturday before, work Sun, Mon, Tue. I think. Never had them. Very lucky to do so) you usually work an early, a late and an overnight. Not guaranteed to be that though, there are some slight variations. You've usually done one, sometimes two shifts before the weekend starts proper. Mostly working on the gates. Can be dull as fuck, can be a laugh. Can be mad busy, can be very slow and quiet. I love it. It suits me well. None of the stress of trying to get a ticket. All my friends who go are also volunteers. Been doing it for so long I know a load of people. Having our own field/showers/food and such is great but the location is a pain. Especially when you're trudging back at 4am, or working on Gate D. Missing the fun can be shit, but I made my peace with that ages ago. It was worse when I had mates who went as punters and I had to leave them to go on shift. Other stewards are generally friendly and welcoming. Some can be a bit cliquey, but for any who are, there's way more who aren't. I'm sure we've been guilty of that ourselves but we try to be open and welcoming. The wider group keeps growing each year (neighbours, people on shift etc) so we must be OK. So as much as I love it, it's not for everyone. I've spoken to stewards (Glastonbury and other festivals) who've hated it. Not many, but a few. Hated the work, hated that they've had to miss favourite bands, gone solo cos they've heard how easy it is to meet people and then struggled.
  17. With Festaff you also have to do a second festival in the same year you do Glastonbury.
  18. Stewarding place sorted. First time at BT since 2017. Just have to hope I'm not working Saturday evening.
  19. Well it wouldn't be an Oxfam application day without something... Shit for the people who are stuck though. At least it'll be sorted for general applications.
  20. I only came back for the festival once during my 5 years in NZ but was here for a month. Same thing, saw friends, family, missed a month of winter. Worked well.
  21. Seem to be a few struggling with payment.
  22. Done! Glastonbury and Bearded Theory in the bag
  23. Typical. The wealthy elites get an extra letter while us peasants have to make do with 5
