The guy from work is much milder but he had it bad in Feb. Not sure about the friend, think it was pretty mild both times

So, fellow club members, how we all doing? I no longer have it but I still feel far from 100%. Any exertion at all (and I'm using exertion in the broadest sense here) and I am really out of breath and feel drained. And still coughing. A really dry, disappointing, unproductive cough. For context I am over weight and have asthma but relatively fit with that. The asthma rarely bothers me (to the point that when I do need my inhaler I never have it on me) and I regularly go hiking in the fells and I'm fine. I walked into town the other day (2 mile round trip) and had to stop 3 times because I could just not carry on. probably spent longer resting than I did walking. I was ill but not that ill. Like a bad cold but I've had worse. It ripped through my work. Two thirds of people over 3 weeks or so. Symptoms ranging from sore throat to bad cold. Some losing taste and smell, some not. I didn't. Nobody was asymptomatic this time. I'd say about half who are now clear are experiencing breathlessness and fatigue and it's not totally matching with people who had worse symptoms. People who are a few days ahead of me d seem to be getting slightly better so hopefully that's me too eventually. And for those who are thinking it's good to get it out of the way, one lad just went off with it having had it previously back in February. And met a friend yesterday who had it twice within 6 weeks!
  6. But you didn't make the rules, go on the telly and tell everyone it was really important to follow the rules and then lie in parliament about whether or not you broke the rules. Like stevie said, it'll lose them a lot of older voters I think. For me it's less about the parties themselves, more about the attempts at lying and how that all fits in to a wider pattern of behaviour. But then it's not like they've lost me as a voter anyway.
  7. I'm not sure I've been to a festival that's been finished by the time the gates open.
  8. Boring and annoying, yes. But drunk (very drunk really) people are boring and annoying in a very specific, very boring and annoying way.
  9. One of my few joys at work (youth hostel) is not reacting to people (usually Stag parties) in fancy dress. They're practically twitching with anticipation for a reaction and I just go totally deadpan and check them in like normal.

  11. And if you're really lucky, you can have the conversation all over again next week.
  12. As someone 15 years or so sober I have to agree. But I also have to add really shit faced people too. Good God they can be tedious at times. And I'm not some sanctimonious ex drinker who thinks everyone should do as I do. Crack on. Do what you want. Get as fucked up as you want (I certainly used to). But fuck me they can be dull at times.
  13. Was thinking exactly the same thing. It really was shoddy at times
  14. Excellent start for Taskmaster. I love the fact they all seem to be going for it, arguing and taking the piss in the studio. Makes such a difference having the studio back to normal. I always suspected that Ardal O'Hanlon wasn't having to do too much acting when playing Father Dougal.
  15. Got to say I agree with you on this. Like you, generally not a fan but I love seeing them at the festival. I've had some really lovely, sweet interactions with families over the years, both out and about in the festival and when working on the gates.
  16. I've encountered, and liked, a lot of friendly and chatty Londoners. Both inside and outside the fence. And any encounter will have been started by them as I'm a quite reserved Northerner.
  17. I know there are extra places overall this year but I think these are all from people who got tickets in the resale. But yes, I think we'll need more space then previous years
  18. A few years back my work went through a phase of comping stays for blogger/vlogger types. They were all, without exception, fucking awful. The only variance was how awful. Thankfully we seem to have grown out of it now.
  19. I think he's smart enough to know what he's doing. He's a pragmatist.
  20. You did well to get one. Pretty hard to find these days
  21. I use one of those as my awning. You definitely need to watch a video before trying to pack it away.
  22. Some of my favourite shows returning over the next week or so. Derry Girls Taskmaster Inside no. 9 And the biggy, Better Call Saul.
