  1. So I’ll I’ve got from starting this thread is the realisation I watch too much TV.
  2. In the interests of doing even less work than I have up to now, along the lines of the ‘what stage am I thread’ I thought of a Glastonbury game whilst watching the Answer Smash round on House of Games with that tall bloke. The theme is Glastonbury obviously, so it can be stages, artists, or anything related to Glastonbury. You need post a question/clue to which the answer is partially made up from the start or end of the Glastonbury stage/act/ or whatever Glastonbury related item you’re referencing. The person who guesses right then has to post their own one and so on. I’ll go first with what is hopefully an easy one to get the ball rolling: The name of an eighties English pop duo and also the name of a song that will most probably be played by one of the likely Other Stage headliners. Edit: If you haven’t seen it and need to work how to do it: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p05dw2hr
  3. The weather really impacts what I spend at bars, I can’t remember why I actually had it to start with, but I bought £500 cash between me and my oh in 2016 and we barely touched it, too much hassle going to and from bars with all the mud, and not hot enough to crave a cold pint either.
  4. So both the left and right ‘goal posts’ are laid out in front of the Pyramid now, with the right hand side laid at 90 degrees. They definitely appear to be a different configuration.
  5. Oh yeah, I 100% agree on that!
  6. I don’t think it’s beyond the wit of man to put bigger screens on the Pyramid stage if that’s ultimately want they want to do. I think the world has seen bigger engineering feats.
  7. Yeah, I mean it’s not even so much the physical cost (although of course that’s a consideration) if a bar was selling cocktails with double measures for £8 then people would happily pay it, as it would be good value. But Carlsberg isn’t a beer I’d even drink for free outside of a festival environment as I drink beer for enjoyment and it’s not a nice tasting beer. I only drink them at Glastonbury because it’s nice to have a cold pint, but if they were £8 it’s simply not value for money at that price point. I’d happily drink my warm 800% cheaper beers I brought with me instead. If you’re at a gig with no other options and you want a beer then you might pay £8 because supply and demand dictates you have no other alternative.
  8. The previous/current screens are pretty small, they could fit much bigger ones even in the same size towers, so maybe they’re the same size but need to be beefed up/reconfigured to hold bigger ones?
  9. Only based on the message somebody got from the common, which was clearly just about the commons lineup, but was misinterpreted by some to mean the full Glastonbury lineup.
  10. At bring your own unlimited booze anywhere festival nobody would buy a pint of 3.8% Carlsberg for £8, especially if it’s not a scorcher, you’d have to be clinically insane.
  11. Silver Hayes has also had a significant shakeup layout wise, so that could easily delay the map if they want to keep that a secret for longer.
  12. Was absolutely bolloxed by Sunday in 2015, so just sat on the ground and listened. Enjoyed his set at Reading though same year, as I only went in a day ticket.
  13. Ideally yes and then it sounds great, it’s still good if you’re close enough without being literally underneath, but much further out and the sound degrades badly.
  14. I hope so, there is normally too much on for me to commit getting there early enough to get a good spot. That normally results in us wondering up, looking at it for 5 minutes, chatting amongst ourselves because you can barely hear it, then going elsewhere.
  15. The clashes are going to absolutely grind my soul into dust this year.
  16. You could’ve just not told us your name was Dave!
  17. What’s best coming from Bournemouth heading for the west side? I know people say it’s random anyway but it looks more likely you’ll end up in pink car parks coming from that direction? I ask because I normally come from the exact opposite angle but I’m picking a mate up from Bournemouth this time.
  18. Not really, technology evolves all the time, the new Led ones seen at places like Reading last year are a step up in technology compared to what Glastonbury have had to date, they’re different screens. The companies supplying Glastonbury aren’t exactly not going to move with the times and keep upgrading their tech too as they’ll go bust, eventually the older stuff will be obsolete as nobody will want it.
  19. It’s logical that the screens change over time, as it’s not like the company that supply aren’t going to be consistently investing in the latest technology otherwise that would be commercial suicide.
