I do agree that there is absolutely nothing wrong with admitting defeat if something just doesn’t work, but to the best of our knowledge (unless you know differently) it’s been scuppered by the planning issues and not the wind issues, so presumably without the planning issues they would’ve still carried on with what they had in mind for years 2, 3 etc…

I totally get that, but what do people want, to stick with the same thing forever just in case what replaces it isn’t as good? Arcadia themselves say that Glastonbury provides them with an environment to develop stuff without the usual commercial pressures, if they can’t try things like Pangea at Glastonbury then we never would’ve even had the Spider in the first place.

Eughh, I actually remember the main catalyst I came off TikTok now, as well as the endless repetitive ‘Mrs Browns Boys’ style ‘comedy’ sketches of people just repeating the same joke 100,000 times over, if you scroll long enough you inevitably end up seeing something you really don’t want to. In this case it was a crocodile ripping the digestive system straight out of a zebra, while the zebra continued to walk along seemingly none the wiser 😫

Considering how naff the spider looks in its first incarnation, and the fact it was over 10 years ago that it looked like that, it blows my mind that people can’t envisage that Pangea would’ve also evolved similarly.

Noticed yesterday they’ve added This Life to iplayer, loved that show back in the day so might give it a re-run over the weekend for nostalgia purposes.

Still a valid point considering there are shortages of both of those.

So best guess is it’s a genuine lineup that was shown to a few people this morning, but the announcement wasn’t due for a while. Now they’re back tracking on it being genuine but it seems nailed on it definitely is?
