  1. Miserably Dressed = Black Lace? Agadoo would go off.
  2. Tried some anagram solvers but nothing takes those two words.
  3. I’m also on here loads because none of my mates are interested, they love it and will have great time but they couldn’t give two shits about the Shangri la lineup or the fact that the pyramid might have different screens this year. I send it all to our group and they all read it and ignore it. If however I told them Sam Fender had cancelled (he hasn’t before this makes it’s way around the forum and on to twitter) they’d probably all have a complete meltdown.
  4. Hope you live in Shepton Mallet, sixty quids worth of fuel gets you about 5 miles these days 😜
  5. It’s called the thin end of the wedge.
  6. Of course this is undoubtedly likely to be true, there is still a fine balance to be had though. I know Glastonbury operates almost in a different dimension to other festivals, but Bestival got itself into a downward spiral that ultimately ended in its demise, through cutting back and ultimately not selling all the tickets and it became a bit of a vicious circle. Towards the end they had stuff half finished and ended up with a smaller main stage one year, as well as the move to the mainland to try and rescue itself but the diminished product sent ticket sales lower and lower. Glastonbury can’t afford to take too many liberties with things as it can unravel very quickly.
  7. One only ever heard Eddie Hearn say it in one the memes using a clip of him.
  8. Pictures from the other thread, doesn’t look much different to me:
  9. Yes I’m fully aware of what it is, but you’ve seen the picture of the glade from the other day?
  10. The pictures don’t show devastation though do they.
  11. Well according to the pictures above they’re happy to put a seating/bar area there instead, so will it hurt someone’s head less if a tree branch falls onto their head in that scenario?
  12. Surely the ash dieback theory is overblown? The pictures just a few pages back show plenty of trees there.
  13. It’s concerning how many people fear change on this forum 😅
  14. What about angel delight, does that still exist? Please tell me it does? Having flashbacks to the caramel flavour and begging my parents for it but being told there wasn’t enough milk 😔
  15. I think there are quite a few things that aren’t right with the map and the Glade is probably one of them. For example where is Firmly Rooted? That is nowhere to be seen in Silver Hayes yet was deliberately announced as a new stage just last week with the Silver Hayes announcement. Has it been cut in that time, or is it just missing? You’d assume it’s the latter, so the same could be the case for plenty of other things. Obviously something has changed about the Glade, but it doesn’t mean the change has to be a negative one.
  16. There is also no evidence of budget cuts in Silver Hayes unless the current map is true and there is in fact no Firmly Rooted stage. If it’s an oversight and there is, all that’s happened is the Pussy Parlour (a tent) has effectively been replaced with an actual stage, and BBC introducing had been shifted out. Firmly Rooted is just a direct replacement for Blues/Gully, so if it’s there if anything you’d say there was slightly more budget spent on replacing a tent with a stage swapping out the PP for the lonely hearts club, if it isn’t there then of course you could say the opposite.
  17. Arcadia’s budget was confirmed as £550k (or £450k, one of the two but I can’t remember, but no different to previous years anyway) wasn’t it? Which was the same as it’s been previously? The only issue with Arcadias budget is they couldn’t afford to fully dismantle the crane and rebuild it, which is obvious given it was never in their plan to have to do that. Arcadia has really only ever just been the Spider, it’s not like they have multiple other venues, it’s the same spider in a field with some fire, and this year they’ve got the most stacked lineup ever, so there is no evidence of budget cuts there, especially as the field is actually bigger if anything. There doesn’t seem to be any less acts on the lineup and if anything the quality of the acts is higher than ever, they’ve all got to be housed on stages somehow, therefore if you cut venues by number you’ll just need bigger ones to replace them, so it’s as broad as it’s long. It wouldn’t surprise me if some areas had their budgets cut though, but it will be so money can be redistributed elsewhere to other newer, bigger venues. I doubt the overall spend is lower with the increased ticket price and capacity, just redistributed differently to allow for bigger venues to house more acts and a larger crowd. They have increased capacity 10k so I’d imagine it’s just more about making bigger spaces that can house more people.
  18. So basically seems like the Glade is shifting over to right as you look at the stage then? And where it normally is might be a bar or seating area?
  19. Got a wedding on the 8th, FML.
  20. Before my time anyway, but it was there in 2007, at least:
  21. There have been pictures posted of some of the canopies being hung from the trees already, but, that still doesn’t necessarily eliminate a stage move because that area could still be used for seating or something and the canopies still used anyway.
  22. Yeah, think that was confirmed on the Silver Hayes announcement.
  23. I’m neither posh or middle class, but I don’t consider gateaux to be middle class, if anything isn’t it a bit naff and eighties and the sort of thing you’d buy in Iceland? Don't get wrong gateaux is lovely, but I don’t think it’s at the cutting edge of culinary sophistication. See also vienetta, prawn cocktail and those hedgehogs made out of squares of cheese and pickled onions.
