  1. Yeah, Individually they're all solid worthy bookings. But as a four it gets a big eyebrow raise from me if I am being honest. Can't escape the fact that the majority are old white guys plus some middle aged white guys.. Personally we all here know the festival wil have a great diversity of bookings across all stages and headline slots, but the press and other people focus first and foremost on the headliners. Emily is going to get some serious stick for it I bet.
  2. I'm joking 🙂 many many people have suggested it since on this thread! Makes me laugh whenever I see it pop up.
  3. Allow me to be the first to suggest GnR for legend slot. Seriously though, whenever I see a top four of Elton, GnR, AM and Rod written down it scans so badly, feels way off the mark to me.
  4. What's the average age of all that? like 55? What percentage of it is white males (regular band members only) like over 90% or something? I know there's other stages and all that, but it's still a bit of an eyebrow raiser when you see it written down init.
  5. Naaah I'm not buying it. Just a convenient looking GSH.
  6. Ahh I like Williams Green a lot, had some great memories there, but did fell like it was in need of a big rethink last year. It had begun to feel like a crossroads between other areas rather than a distinct area of its own, or at certain times just a place where couldn't get near the tent because of crowds.
  7. Also just finished Last Of Us ep3... had tears streaming down my face for a good 10 mins. Top stuff.
  8. I thorougly reject the notion that Guns and Roses are a metal band.
  9. Say what you like about Iggy's suitability for that slot but at least he doesn't do three Men At Work covers...
  10. Not necessarily a fan of Fred so a bit easy for me, but even so - the guy is going to be at Glastonbury and other festivals plenty of times in coming years. Elton? Probably never again.
  11. Love the idea of Fogerty but personally I really don't think the legend slot will be yet another white male artist. Emily is going to get enough stick as it is about the headliner trio, think they're going to try and balance things with the legend slot. Also yeah that doesn't mean its Blondie.
  12. Seen enough of The Strokes now to not really be bothered by that exclusive news. Have always loved them but jesus they're w*nk live. Sorry Julian and the lads.
  13. Pulp are a little bit more of a rarity with decades between their tours, Manics and Primal Scream have basically not stopped doing annual gigs and festivals since the 90s. But yeah otherwise agree, doesn't seem quite right when they're a good fit for any number of slots across the festival.
  14. What can I say my memory is not very good! May for full lineup with nothing in between would be pretty fun I think.
  15. IIRC they don't usually announce anything until emerging talent is done now right?
  16. Personally I think the legend will be female. I know Emily talked about some years having all male headliners (probably laying the groundwork for this year knowing it was a possibility), but something tells me in that situation she'd go all out to at least secure a female legend slot which is arguably one of the 4 big crowds of the weekend. It's Spice Girls init.
  17. I can't get this idea out of my head either, but then I think about a Pulp legend slot setlist with This is Hardcore blasting out for the BBC and camping chair Sunday crew and it just doesn't seem right. Would love them as Other headliners against GNR personally.
  18. Yeah fair enough! Was a bit terrifying pulling mine along the graveyard of wheels and mangled frames leading up to Gate D.
  19. Lot of criticism for the old trolley on here - can I just say that after many years of doing Leeds fest and Glastonbury with warm bottles of cider and wine bags, I have finally reached an age where enough is enough. The trolley carries my coolbox. It's my one bloody luxury and I won't have the "only take what you can get on your back" crowd take it away from me.
  20. I think that's just a leaf man.
  21. Back to Duran Duran then.
  22. Yeah to be fair I was humouring the post more than I should have done tbh. Zero chance of either suggestion.
  23. Even on a dry year it looks like hard work tbh. The clearance from the ground the wheels give looks way too small, the bottom is going to get snagged and bashed about on the hard uneven surfaces. Best thing I ever saw used at Glastonbury was somebody who had made their own cart out of a shopping trolley with axles welded onto it and four bicycle wheels. Plenty of time to knock one up between now and the festival.
  24. Not super convinced by either of those rumours sorry. Also I say this as somebody who is definitely going to see Elton, but is it really going to be that popular?... Quite a few of our group who aren't bothered at all.

    2023 Stage Predictions

Ah ffs did not see that bit. I had tickets to see them in Denmark last year but had to give them up because it was too much of a pain to get there, was really hoping they'd do Glasto.
