    2023 Stage Predictions

What's the thinking with this? Are they exclusive to BD or just dates too far apart for them to stick around in the UK for a whole month?
  2. I was just making a point that there's a very obvious reason Kendrick, Stormzy and Billie bookings got more agro on social media than other white male bands might, I wasn't even really commenting on this years apparent trio, and I got a load of downvotes for it lol. As for the rest of that take, an hour of recorded material between them? Really?
  3. To clarify further I don't think it's something to be pleased about or that it's somehow a good thing that this trio will go down better on notoriously angry and divisive social media platforms. There's a very obvious reason Billie, Kendrick and Stormzy didn't go down well on there.
  4. Yeah appeasing racists and/or sexists should be the gold standard for the festival IMO.
  5. Was very close to dropping a £100+ each on a few tickets for Bob Dylan at the Apollo last year and to this day still a bit annoyed at myself that I didn't but I was quite skint at the time, so highest is probably about £70 for Paul Simon at Manchester arena which was totally worth it, he seemed to play forever in a 26 song mega set.
  6. Nice, that worked! Much appreciated
  7. While this has popped up I appear to be banned on 4g on my phone but not on any wifi - presume I have been caught in a blanket ban on a certain IP which is fine, pretty sure I haven't done anything to deserve it... I hope...
  8. As much as I dislike the chair barrier crew have to disagree on "gate principal" if its what I think it is! - part of the joy of Glastonbury is not having areas policed like this.
  9. I turned up for Macca basically as Noel was finishing, it took me ages to get to my mates because every avenue was blocked by rows and rows of chairs all bunched together, and was met with scowling faces as I tried to get by, that was over an hour before the headliner!
  10. Yeah I thought it was optional but they were being fairly forceful about it early Wednesday morning. At one point the steward side stepped to block a car in front of us as it started to pull around her. Ah my bad, got purple and pink mixed up! Yeah we bypassed that first left for pink travelling eastward Interesting that you got redirected and straight into zig zags at A, we probably arrived just before you too, stewards seemed a bit overwhelmed with how quickly the queue built up. Seemed like there were A LOT more early arrivals than in previous years.
  11. Well it didn't work with Marcus and it isn't gonna wash with young Frederick either.
  12. Somebody on here gave some good advice about how to guarantee Orange (which is much closer to the gate) which worked a treat for us - when we approached from Glastonbury town stewards were stood in the road forcing everyone into Purple car park, we peeled our sticker off before we got to them and just pointed forward toward Pilton with a knowing nod like we knew where we were going, they waved us through before sending everyone else behind us into purple again, we immediately whacked the sticker back up and get directed into Orange. As it happens that was a massive fucking error because Purple would have been way closer to where the queue actually started 🙂 Moral of the story is listen to the stewards.
  13. Thought I was going a bit mad like he just seems to be everywhere, and I listen to the tunes and its just... nothing grabs me at all.
  14. Just being reminded of Gate D brought back traumatic memories of joining the end of it at the BACK of orange car park near the A361 in the blazing heat. It was a few hours before we even caught sight of the zig zag fence queue which felt like a mirage in a desert by that point.
  15. Can't see Fred in any other position than West Holts headliner to be honest. That's still a very big stage to go in at for your first stab, and yeah he's got some hype but there's no way he is bigger than Bicep were at that stage when they headlined.
  16. Usually much closer to the festival, May I think? It feels agonisingly slow between each individual poster as well, but I am very impatient!
  17. The 1975 to me strike me as a band on the verge of missing their window, similar to the situation Foals found themselves in - and if they are going to do it it ideally needs to be before Matt Healy gets embroiled in some scandal for being a mega creep which also feels like it might happen very soon.
  18. Oh absolutely agree yeah, was just responding to point that there was a rumour it might "wind up the locals" so was trying to think of people who don't necessarily have those qualities! Imagining the Sunday locals crew when the opening riff kicks in for I wanna be your dog.
  19. ...Iggy Pop? Ozzy? Both touring near the festival, both undeniable legends. Not saying it is either of those mind, I'm just struggling to think what "legend" might fit that description if that is indeed true!
  20. After reading the last few pages I now feel like the endless "are GNR too shit to headline or not" debate seems like a much more appealing topic for this thread tbh.
  21. All our mates did WV last year so despite all the negative reports we (two of us) thought it might be easy for a single tent to squeeze into Pennards, ended up about halfway down the hill right next to steward base. We had no issues and picking up some cold cans between stages was an absolute dream after years of doing Bushy, Dairy, Paines etc. Even managed a few quick naps to recharge a bit at quieter times in the day. Definitely going back this year.
  22. Yeah don't get me wrong would love DD, pleeeenty of absolute bangers there. Would just really love to see Stevie too.
  23. Not to mention Billy Joel taking a break in his and Stevie's joint US dates to come to the UK, not improbable to think she'd come over with him for a guest appearance at BST... And then do Glastonbury when she's here. I don't know why I do this to myself. It's Duran Duran init.
  24. Oh mate you've seen nothing yet, just you wait until we have about a month to go and the weather model graphs start getting posted all day and meticulously analysed.
