  1. I don't think it is FF to be honest, but to put it another way it will be 6 years since they last played. Not that small of a gap when you think about it considering Coldplay did a 3 year headliner gap followed by a 6 year gap. Edit; beaten to it by BenG92!
  2. Doesn't he compensate for his lack of mobility these days with a motorised piano that randomly roams the stage? Seen videos of him rolling about in a similar sort of pattern to me pissed looking for my mates at the festival

    2023 Stage Predictions

Think you're right, interesting though because I doubt they'd have two big rock acts up against each other if it's GNR on Saturday either... So where do they go other than Pyramid sub?
  4. All this GNR chat is moot anyway when it's highly likely Axl will fall out with the band, the festival or the entire population of earth between now and June. We should be preparing ourselves for a pyramid sub to get bumped up.
  5. Like I said, 80% denial, 20% skepticism! though Neil does seem to be backtracking a little bit in response to other posts...
  6. This place seems fun today. Can easily see FF doing next year or a secret set this year tbh, they're one of the safest booking bands going at the moment. For what it's worth I still don't believe GNR are doing it. 80% denial 20% still not sure what "concrete" info anybody had, feels like the forum just talked itself into it with lots of small unsubstantiated rumours.
  7. At least Dave is punctual for their own shows.
  8. Damn, Tool at Glasto would be so good.
  9. Imagine if they're not even playing after all this.
  10. I mean disagree, if we're really getting into it technically they could book anyone they want to.
  11. Fair enough, apologies for using that term I was being a bit flippant really. I am absolutely standing firm on personally believing they're a load of w*nk though! All that said I'm sure people will have a great time.
  12. I disagree sorry. If I want to say guns and roses are a pile of old w*nk that's my opinion. If people want to say that's snobby that's fine too. That's kind of the point of the headliner discussion thread no?
  13. lot of people here struggling with the idea of a forum and differing opinions and that not everyone is buzzing for guns and roses. was pretty clear to caveat my stuff with "in my opinion" but feel like that should go without saying on a forum.
  14. Just an example mate, Emily has often talked about bumping up female artists to stages way bigger than they've had before. If she's gonna get that step up I could see it being glasto that's all. Huh? I didn't say anything about being desperate? Sure you've not mixed me up with somebody else?
  15. Could have bumped Lizzo to headliner (if she is indeed returning) who would have smashed it rather than booking washed up dad rock bands looking for a cash in. But hey that's just my take, hope everyone who watches em has a blast.
  16. Same. Elton the only redeeming artist for me tbh. Love AM and seen them do 2 festivals and 1 of their own shows and honestly seen enough to be underwhelmed for a lifetime. GNR... all my opinion etc etc but just abysmal. Hard to put into words how w*nk I think they are, for me one of the worst pyramid headliner bookings of at least the last decade.
  17. Capaldi has got high up Pyramid vibes for me, Pulp Other here we goooo
  18. Much appreciated I had missed that development! Christ that's a properly abysmal trio (for me), will absolutely be elsewhere on site.
  19. Just out of interest but based on what? Honest question not being facetious! because it all just seems to stem back to a few people on here insisting it to be true - unless I've missed some concrete info?
  20. I literally said in the post you replied to "and I'm definitely not saying that it would not be a huge set of bookings" ??? what an odd thing to say regarding skin colour and gender. I'm saying I believe Emily will book more diverse, not less.
  21. Maybe it's just me but the criteria seems relatively straightforward - It would be a female lead artist headlining with their own act with their own material, and not a female bandmember who has joined a historically male dominated rock band. Don't get me wrong it's great they have improved diversity within their own touring lineup, but you must see it's a bit of a mega reach to think Emily would see that as a diverse set of headliners.
  22. Cool. So you reckon Guns and Roses are a big win for diversity for festival bookings then? Edit - hey maybe they'll even play One in a million, a real anthem for diversity.
  23. But not just all men, all white men to boot. I'm not saying Glasto wouldn't go for that trio, and I'm definitely not saying that it would not be a huge set of bookings. I just find it jarring from all the other interviews Emily has given about diversity, about booking specifically female headliners, and that she's now an ambassador of keychange. It just doesn't sit right to me. But we'll see eh!
  24. This just doesn't feel right. I can't really explain it but I just know it's wrong.
  25. Probably sounds a bit silly but I burst into (happy) tears when I first walked into West Holts field on the Wednesday. Last went in 2017 and missed out on tickets after that, by some absolute miracle picked up 2022 tickets in the resale a few months before the festival. I think the culmination of all the shit that we endured and some extra life stuff, and also that I associate West Holts with some of my very happiest memories at Glasto, just hit me like a ton of bricks. Anyway had to sit down on the benches at the back and take it all in, drinking my brothers cider.
