As somebody who likes a lot of metal stuff I do not even classify GnR as metal. They're a bit tricky to place but a sort of hard pop rock is as good as they get from me.

Maybe it's just me but if I had advanced sight of the lineup and couldn't quite remember exact placements, rather than whack Razorlight in as West Holts headliner and put Iggy Pop on a day that he objectively cannot do, I would simply list artists I had seen on the poster and say "pretty sure these are all playing" For me they overegged it, and it was pure backpedalling the moment it came up against any minor scrutiny. Total bollocks IMO.

Yeah I guess it could just be total coincidence that you cherry picked out a post from yesterday morning from a convo that had moved on entirely to tell a random person that they were annoyed about something.

Yeah - Or a third possibility I guess is that they're gonna curveball it to try and ease the burden of booking these sort of acts in the future. There must be a shrinking pool of available, touring and suitably sized heritage acts, at some point you have to go with an artist from an earlier decade or change how that slot functions entirely.

Yeah, I can't help but feel there's a reason for the total silence, normally we have some solid rumours by now at least?! Maybe it's a huge booking and it's top top secret OR they really are struggling

Aye agree - they've still got dates to announce too which could eat away at that plausible window of opportunity.

This is all just silly really. There are three possibilities for me; 1. Glasto insider - pretty high risk to release the lineup and highly doubt anybody actually working for the festival would do so 2. General industry insider - do not believe individual "industry" insiders would have advanced sight of the FULL lineup, they might know one or two artists if it is somebody on their label or they're associated with them, but that's it. And lastly and almost certainly the case 3. Pure bollocks

So Razorlight are headlining West Holts? Or not?

Oh no they've climbed down from that position now, Razorlight could merely be playing anywhere at all. Not really sure how you can fuck that up if you've seen the lineup.

So you want to die on the hill that Spice Girls are playing the Legend Slot then despite one of them being out of the country that weekend, is that what you're saying? Because when they're not on that poster, that's a fairly big mistake.

Where did you get this information from then? Because to me Industry Insider is suitbly vague but I highly doubt anybody in the "industry" knows each stage headliner. They might be a record label and they know which of their own artists are playing, sure. But all stage splits of various artists? Nah. The info would already be out in public domain if that were the case.

Iggy Pop is 75 and playing Germany on the Monday, he's not doing Sunday. So yeah, do your homework before posting this stuff.

Everything about that "leak" is just lifted from predictions made on this site with the exception of Razorlight, which is an absolutely laughable placement. Total bollocks for me sorry.

to be fair she's also spoken extensively on lack of female headliners specifically at Glastonbury, about how she is determined to promote female artists and book female headliners, and she's an ambassador for Keychange. So it's not that much of a stretch to just read between the lines of that single quote and assume that yes she's said there might be a year with all male headliners, probably this year, but I very much doubt she's chuffed about it.

No. I need to mentally prepare myself for paying my balance to go to a festival that GNR headlining, you can't just spring that shit on me as a surprise after I have paid my balance.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Glastonbury-on-sea, perhaps telling that it's not even on people's minds. Feels like a phenomenal waste of time, resources and camping space to me. Lovely idea and really impressive to go and see it once, but probably the area that offers the least in the entire festival.

They're quite obviously not going to be... but part of me now hopes GnR are legend slot purely to see it absolutely go off on here. One of the ages, not to be missed.

Well we'll never know will we? IMO she's absolutely ready to step up. Also back to your main point - there's a huge difference between insisting they book somebody else to improve diversity, and simply saying it's an unfortunate situation to be in and Emily might get some stick for it.

Yeah totally agree - my perspective is that we as Glasto goers know how good the rest of the lineup is so it's fine. Just fear a bit for Emily and the festival if that is the top 4. People who don't go / the press are way less understanding that us lot.
