  1. Mad hype for Fred Again at the moment but find it hard to see anything but West Holts headliner in a similar slot to Bicep, before returning for a bigger slot in a few years time.
  2. Harsh though. Maybe you just went at completely the wrong time in your life, but L+R has its place for kids just out of GCSE's to cut loose without parents and experience a proper music festival, before moving onto the big stuff like Glastonbury. This was my exact trajectory.
  3. I think they'd pack out Pyramid field for sure, but I think there will be a lot of people who only know the big tunes and go because they're intrigued by the booking. And I am not sure those people will be particularly blown away by Axl's typical antics or shite vocals. I mean look at Macca, lots of people said he lost the crowd around them just for playing Wings tunes. Imagine that but Axl turns up one hour late to stage.
  4. And just to add to that, the Pyramid crowd are going to be belting out I'm Still Standing at a deafening volume anyway to be honest!
  5. Only had issues with sending / receiving in big crowds. Standing at main stages just before a band using the old "I'm by the yellow flag with an ET riding a unicorn on it" was a no go for us. In the end we just planned a bit in advance and met up in quieter areas by specific food trucks.
  6. That this is his last UK show ever should tell you it's going to be pretty mega with some phenomenal guests. One not to be missed IMO and I rarely venture over to Pyramid and don't even like a lot of Elton stuff!
  7. Absolutely agree. Need to have a whip round on efests to try and get odds suspended for Led Zep to finally put the use of odds to bed for determining info.
  8. Yeah, sounded ok from memory... Sort of remember big cheers whenever the sun popped out from behind the clouds. Really weird placement looking back.
  9. This has rekindled some Blur hope for me. Much appreciated.
  10. That is exactly what I have just done. Its early, need coffee.
  11. hah beat me to it, yeah I misread an article and have now edited my post. Even so, seems extremely unlikely.
  12. There is a long long fucking list of available acts to headline Glastonbury before you get to "Liam Gallagher".
  13. I miss the days when this forum used to throw Prince and Led Zeppelin rumours out there every year.
  14. There were a few, me included - just based on a gut feeling really though, but those festival dates look preeeetty ominous. personally that's a dreadful booking if so, but obviously not gonna go as far as say they don't deserve it as they are without doubt one of the biggest bands going. They're just proper shite (in my opinion).
  15. Just to clarify that was probably poor wording on my part. I just meant the last two albums haven't gone down too well and live shows not much better - And I really like AM, I like last two albums, they're massive! I just think this lounge thing, as much as I like it, doesn't seem sustainable for festival headliner status.
  16. Hah, I absolutely knew somebody would swoop in with something like this. Yeah fair enough. They're still an enormous band with a lot of hits so it's no surprise they're still selling out tours, I was kind of suggesting that if the lounge output (which I like!) continues how sustainable that is considering it seems to elicit a sort of a shrug from most reviews you read, and people who I've spoken to about it.
  17. Yeah their stock is definitely falling rapidly but no question Glasto would get them on Pyramid if they could.
  18. Just gonna go way off piste now because current 1975 GNR AM suggestions melting my mind; Pulp, Lizzo, Elton.
  19. Didn't they do that slot quite recently though? That or my life is racing by and the years are all blurring together...
  20. If there's an option for somebody else to do it accurately probably best to do that, but if you know The Loop won't be there for example then it is at least a means of precaution. A friend ended up binning stuff after home testing last year because they were almost entirely full of potentially harmful chemicals, and indicated no trace of what they were supposed to be after repeated tests.
  21. Camped a few tents back from a path in Pennards, near steward base. Was probably the best experience we've had at Glasto. There is a lot of criticism directed at Pennards (theft, destruction of tents, bad neighbours etc) but we thankfully experienced none of that. Was amazing to be able to pop into the tent on the way to or from Park to get a few more cans. It was very loud, but we were not getting back until the early hours ourselves!

    Blur

Think they're about the same? - maybe JP slightly bigger, or at least has a large flat area that more people can see the stage from. I mean I am happy to be proven wrong and I'll be there for any TBA with Blur in the mix, but just seems like we're talking a different beast to say Jack White.

    Blur

Not saying it won't happen, just saying I highly doubt that Glasto would put them on Park for a secret set.

Not a chance Blur are doing a secret set on anything but Pyramid tbh, crowding was bad enough for Wet Leg at Park.
