  1. Last one I missed was 2016....nuff said!
  2. Oh man!! I feel and share with you your pain! I am not going this year - a decision based on my friends/husband wanting a break, I couldn't get an Oxfam slot quickly and now I've a friends 50th booked in for that weekend. This is my 3rd miss since 1994.... and my god it hurts! The pain is eased a little by the main stages line up being more than a bit disappointing for me but, as we all know ,its not all about the main stages. I also tried to dip out but its impossible, totally. So, here I am too - answering questions, supporting newbies and generally pretending that I'm going without the long drive in 2n a bit weeks The pain was made more bearable by an Oxfam slot at Bearded Theory, so got my mini-glasto fix... and more fests to come over the summer.
  3. Oops my bad - in fact it was all sorts of wrong because I meant chiropodist not chiropractor!!
  4. Depends where you're driving from. PGD is west side, not east!
  5. Poor you, its horrible isn't it! 1 - walk/stand more before the festival - probably too late now but for next year! 2 - decent arch support in your shoes/boots - buy the best shoes/boots you can afford - see a chiropractor if you need insoles made specifically to support your arches 3 - hate to say it, but make sure your weight is in the right sort of healthy range 4 - stretch your achilles as often as possible (lots of exercises on internet you can do while just standing around) 5 - give your feet a good massage with moisturiser daily 6 - drink loads so you forget about the pain in your feet! I also find a change of shoes daily helps relieve the pain sometimes
  6. Thanks Neil, all looks fine now!
  7. I was at Bearded Theory last week where there's an embargo on vehicles in the arena from 9am to whenever....gone 3am. I was absolutely amazed at the little amount of litter. Reusable cups definitely helped, but people just put their food and drinks waste in a bin. Thats it, so simple. The campsites were similar on leaving, not a jot of litter anywhere. Its possible, you don't have to live like a pig just because you're on a farm.
  8. Definitely hoping to be there with Oxfam again, or as a punter if not!
  9. @Neil Hope you're well - I'm obviously aware that you're mid hand-over to Iggy so if this need to go elsewhere, please say! My Gold membership is due to renew today I think, but the last few days I've been getting ads appear on my feeds, especially on my phone. I saw your thread to Oldbird where you advised to change the Theme, but I don't have a button/link to do so. Could you check all this out for me please? Thank you so much Bex
  10. Hi Neil, can you have a look at mine too please? My gold membership renews tomorrow I think, but I've got ads everywhere. I can't see a Theme button/link either. Thanks 😁

    Oxfam training

I was about a week before. Put a message on the Oxfam Festivals facebook page?
  12. There was also quite few people nipping out on Sunday morning to feed the cat, have a shower and be back in time for the music starting!
  13. I was working on the ped gate on Sunday, there are a few locals day tickets and guest tickets, all approved by the Gate Manager.
  14. Me neither. From tiny fests to Glasto, no! Glasto of course has the phone charging tent, but you wouldn't be able to plug anything but a phone in there - and its a massive waste of time. @ontheblend - powerbanks are your friend here, but they still won't do straighteners.
  15. I think they use orange for traders/crew/artists etc which is why it's often empty on Wednesday.
  16. They're unbelievable... Actually, I've never seen them either, but just couldn't resist... I'll get my coat... 😁
  17. Rip Andy Rourke, too young.
  18. ITs usually quite light in the campsites (compared to normal camping in the middle of a field)- and people do arrive in the middle of the night. I've certainly arrived at 4am, by which time its light anyway. Lose a night's sleep though which isn't a great way to start the festival!!
  19. Having arrived on West side usually somewhere between 4am and 10am, we've ended up in Pink everytime - probably last 5 -7 years at least!
  20. This - I suffered at Glasto 95, ended up going back to the tent half way through Oasis (who don't forget then, were MASSSIVE). Hat/Brolly/Scarf the sun is relentless if its out!
  21. Day split are out - sorry not got time to faff about posting!! @jjason - Advice - its friendly little festival, definitely explore the convoy cabaret, don't camp near the all night venue which I can't remember the name of but is outside the arena! Its all a nice flat site so much easier to carry stuff than some festivals. It gets flipping freezing at night, be warned, bring warm stuff - and I'm not normally someone who suffers cold at night!
  22. Agree, it seems unlikely but as we know from The Killers, they can manage the crowd there. And I'd watch Pulp over Elton.. If I was going this year!
  23. Nick Banks tweeted that a big announcement is due today folks... And putting 2 + 2 together with an imminent announcement for Woodsies... Could it be...?? 👀
