  1. I'm not totally AWOL and probably normally go a bit quiet at this time of year. But I've no idea if I'll be at the festival next year. All of my usual crew have said they don't want to or can't go. Even my husband that I've been to 18 or 19 Glastonburys with has said he wants a year off. So I didn't get tickets and I won't go for resale. But I have registered for Oxfam and Wateraid, but know the chances are slim as I've not volunteered before. So who knows. Feeling a bit flat about it all really.
  2. I was lucky enough to see Wilko play at Off the Tracks festival, gosh must be 2012ish, he was absolutely incredible. Not my taste in music exactly but my goodness could he hold that rhythm on his guitar! It wasn't long after that he was diagnosed with his cancer. RIP Wilko, great guitarist, even greater character!
  3. Definitely not a legacy booking, they've had 4 absolutely superb albums in the last 10 years and tour both old and new material very regularly. Brett Anderson is an amazing front man and the rest of the band are as relevant today as they've ever been.
  4. Look for Gore-tex boots for waterproof-ness. Go Outdoors, Cotswold or Mountain Warehouse often have sales.
  5. ^^^ That pretty much covers it but I'd add, don't overthink it. Its huge, its off the scale, you will miss lots, you will see lots you didn't plan to. Don't underestimate how physically tough it can be, so get your fitness up over the winter!
  6. I know, every person counts! Our group have decided not to go next year, and I have decided to volunteer and put something back into the festival that has given me 20 fabulous live changing experiences. So, thats 6 less trying for tickets! I wish you all the luck in the world, can't help feeling a little strange sitting here the night before Tday...
  7. I decided not to enter the madness today. I think I would be chasing the memory of the 2011 Park set, which is probably the best gig I've ever been to. It was a hard decision and the Fomo is massive. Hope you all have the best time x
  8. Further info from Dyfed Police.
  9. Just seen this on twitter regarding an alleged rape at Green Man.
  10. Everything just spot on as usual. Highlights for me were Dactyl Terra, Maria BC, Melin Melyn, The Wedding Present, The Murder Capital, Ty Seagall, Lemondaze and Pictish Trail Anyone else experience the absolute shambles at the coach pick up on Monday? No traffic management for ages, meaning too many busses in a tiny area with no room to turn. Expect it caused chaos on the main road too. Our coach to Sheffield /Leeds left 3 hours late meaning we had a long wait in the rain. Our poor drivers had set off at 4am, I'm guessing they would have got back to Leeds around 7.15pm. Complaint has been sent to GM and Nat Express... It seriously put me off travelling by coach again, which is a shame from a green /cost perspective.
  11. You'll have to go through wristbands, its quite a way from Orange to campervans
  12. I had Mandrake Handshake on my list too, and also someone at the weekend kept telling me to go see the Umlauts, so thats on there too (no idea what they are like though!!)
  13. Witch - Zambian psych Ty seagall - psych Lemondaze - new band, shoegaze, indie, psych, have recently supported Ride

  15. Am I right in thinking the coach drop off point is just across the river over the bridge with the turrets on it?

  20. Does anyone have any experience of listing tickets with Fanticks? I put my Green Man ticket up day before yesterday and its still in pending status. I've had no communication from them. Is this normal?
  21. The bit in red is roughly the settlers area, the blue is the car park and the green is the arena. The tent with music etc is at the top of the red area nr the word "usk"
  22. The canal is an easy walk to Crickhowell, from memory takes about 40 mins. The campsite is close to the car park, downhill from, uphill back. The camping field is large, there's a couple of toilet blocks and a shower block. As an adult with no kids, i notice the huge amount of kids about but during the say its fairly quiet as the families tend to go out and about. If you get camped next to a screamer you might want earplugs! Personally I wasn't that bothered by the laid on activities but some of the bands were good in the evening. The settlers field is pretty much in the bend in the river, it can get very chilly at night as the temperature drops close to the water. Be warned!
  23. I've got one ticket for sale on Fanticks - just waiting for it to be authorised..... keep your eyes peeled!
  24. Definitely still there! Tempting to go in for a paddle!
  25. Dreadful news about Paul Ryder. Sad loss.
