  1. I am, and I’m a big fan of theirs. This is just truly horrendous for a number of reasons.
  2. It must only be the guaranteed £££ that’s keeping Matt, Jamie and Nick in the band anymore. I’m sure they’re fully aware of the parody Alex has sadly turned them into, but they just can’t walk away for the money the band generates.
  3. What I can’t get my head round is that if he is struggling with his voice (which he clearly seems to be) then rejig the setlist and just do the greatest hits. It would go down a storm that way, regardless of how Alex actually sang or not. Sticking with this setlist is just making his struggles more obvious for all to see.
  4. The really frustrating thing is that they have a great setlist and performance still in them if they wanted to deliver it, you can see it in glimpses. But the more people want it, the more Alex seems reluctant to deliver. He surely knows nobody wants to listen to his new style - and it’s really baffling they’re sticking with it for so long now. I can even understand the change of direction on their studio albums, but live shows should be for the crowd.
  5. Not helped by a shocking setlist. 40 mins in and they’ve yet to get the crowd really engaged. It’s basics for a headline set - win the crowd over early on with a ‘banger’. I think this is the worst Pyramid headliner I’ve seen (on TV at least).
  6. I’m an Arctics fan - but I think we’re at the stage where a tribute band would actually be better to watch live nowadays * google’s Antarctic Monkeys tickets *
  7. Alex’s determination to stick with slowing down their songs and trying to croon just ruins their live shows. Just sing them properly mate.
  8. Los Bitchos should be great coming up next!
  9. This was taken from the iPlayer schedule
  10. Suppose the nicer weather makes the Thursday seen busier too? If it was raining or miserable then you’d have had people sat around their campsite and in their tents.
  11. Assume any decision will have to be made tomorrow morning really. His voice will be improving by the hour and assume he’s giving it every chance, and the difference between calling it now and in 12 hours could be vital. It’s likely to be touch and go at the moment I would guess I think we’ll only hear early tomorrow morning if they’ve pulled out or not.
  12. Sadly I’m not at the farm this year, but just wondering how the overcrowding / capacity / general ‘busy-ness’ feels this year compared to last - as i know this was an issue many of us commented on last year, and felt that it was a huge negative to the whole experience. Appreciate it’s still only Thursday and many more thousands still to arrive yet, but would be good to see if/how the new areas and layouts have had an impact.

Ahh your argument is much more valid than mine - as a United fan I despise that ground (and have terrible experiences from recently football related visits there!!). But yeah as you say, makes little sense to choose it over the Manchester stadiums. It’s a big draw for them to win that over the bigger neighbouring city, would love to know who made the decision (and why).

I hope this is football related pettiness as i‘m in the same position as you. My wife has told me to ‘get a grip’ but she just doesn’t get it!

Hey, don’t you know it’s cool to be a ‘Swifty’ these days - you don’t have to hide behind the classic ‘it’s for my kids’ act anymore 😉

    Beer Prices

£6.50 for a pint at a festival is still reasonable I would say (all things considered). Don’t really count the spirit prices at Glastonbury as you’d be nuts to pay them when you can bring your own bottles of whatever you like with you!
  17. I’ve never really understood missing out on one of your favourite acts playing at Glastonbury, just to ‘be there’ for another act you don’t really have an interest in. Queens finishing the festival on Sunday will be epic and if I was going I wouldn’t miss it for the world, despite being keen to see how Elton goes down.

I’m thinking we’ll be looking at around £120 ish for pitch/standing (including all fees etc). Which would be good value in this day and age for the show she’ll put on, especially when compared to £90 for the Arctic Monkeys, for them to play with as minimal show as possible for just 90 mins.
  19. As always, it goes to show how utterly pointless weather forecasts are two weeks out when it can still change hours before! However saying that these threads are always great fun and part of the anticipation.
  20. Ahhh .. I’d have crumbled with this questions live on air anyway!
  21. Me in the mirror currently practising ‘enthusiasm’ just in case
  22. You think? See for me, now that the time has gone, I’d certainly class The Pigeon Detectives for example as ‘Indie Landfill’ .. but I bloody loved them back in the late 00s! Watched them countless times and they were great fun as a live act. All those type of bands would go down great on the farm - totally agree with your latter point.
  23. An ‘Indie Landfill’ stage. And I probably wouldn’t move from there for three straight days.
  24. I’m debating writing a poem to recite to them should I get though …
