  1. Epic performance on Sunday aside for a moment, how bloody good is the new album too! Paper Machete is as good as anything they’ve ever done, and great additions to the setlist. Great to see a band like this not just stagnating at this stage in their career, and are still as loud and energetic as ever.

    2024 Headliners

Booking Foo’s again so soon would probably be the safest and least imaginative Pyramid booking of all time.
  3. Yeah I think this is a massive part. Especially with the run of great weather the festival has had since 2016, it’s essentially a lads holiday for a fraction of the cost. Add in the little/no drug restrictions you’re asking for groups of idiots.

Suppose it comes down to the big question - ‘who do you perform for?’ For some time now, Alex has clearly been performing and arranging the live shows exactly how he wants to do them, with little to now regards for the rest of the band, or fans in the audience. You could argue that’s fine and it’s his right to do so, but surely ensuring the crowd are having a great time is more important isn’t it? He could still deliver an exceptional live show just by playing the songs the majority of fans want to hear, sang similar to how they do on record. He really doesn’t need to pull out all the stops.
  5. I really don’t get the general light hearted take on people bunking in and them essentially having the same access and enjoyment as somebody who has spent £350+ to be there. Whilst at the same time they are swelling the numbers and the extra bodies are negatively impacting the whole experience for many. Regardless of how the festival used to be decades ago when this was the norm, it’s a different beast now. For me, it’s not ‘funny’ or ‘a laugh’, you’re actually effectively committing a crime and are being an inconsiderate, selfish (insert swear word) if you’re attempting it.
  6. Yeah always wondered why they haven’t tried this. Worked well with the ‘Early Bird’ entry when I used to go Leeds Festival 15 years ago!

  9. Genuinely worth the years license fee for the coverage the BBC provide. And it’s somehow getting bigger and better every year. Seems like it’s been a vintage year this one .. gutted to have not been there but I’ve had a great weekend and watched so many sets. And loved the threads on here. Thank you all - and fingers crossed for next year.
  10. I’m calling it .. it will be regarded as the greatest of all time I think.
  11. Elton is in the very rare position of having probably 15+ songs that even the causal music fan would instantly recognise and sing along to. Makes for the perfect headliner.
  12. What a bloody handsome bastard Brandon is!
  13. Wow. Queens really are sounding as good as ever here. Josh seems to be on top form. Epic stuff
  14. Just flicked QOTSA on .. decent enough crowd given the circumstances and they’re sounding great. Crowd up for it .. could/would have been a mega set I think if in a different slot.
  15. Doubt we’ll ever see the field anywhere near this full again will we? Which of the big hitters could bring anywhere near this … possibly Oasis?
  16. The War on Drugs with one of the sets of the weekend here! Lovely stuff. Would love to be in that field right now.
  17. Will Alt-J and Phoenix even make it to a triple figure crowd at this rate?! Never mind the smaller stages. QotSA and Rudimental give decent alternatives and will break up for some the crowd, but I really do feel for the other bands/artists up against them.
  18. The Teskey Brothers are sounding great. Perfect Sunday afternoon viewing. Josh’s voice really is superb
  19. Seems like the new choice of weather for the festival now is either wet and mild, or dry and hot. Basically if you’re wanting a dry festival (which most people are) then it’s ever more likely that temperatures in the mid to high twenties are coming with it. Seemingly gone are the days of dry, cloudy 18-20 degs in late June.

    Guns n Roses

This is everything a Glastonbury headliner should be for me - legendary act with a great back catalogue of hits, having a great time out there playing, and the crowd loving it.
  22. Really teared up watching Lewis Capaldi there - the crowd reaction to him was amazing and must have really touched him. Seeing somebody clearly struggling in front of a crowd that size and millions on TV is really uncomfortable. But he did a great job.
  23. So they haven’t even been arsed to throw in A Certain Romance? Shocking. This has been their worst setlist of the tour.
  24. I am, and I’m a big fan of theirs. This is just truly horrendous for a number of reasons.
