I’m feeling very lucky to have received a code by the sounds of things! Wonder how many more codes they have issued vs how many tickets are left available? Basically, if you have a code do you have a good change of a ticket (wherever type) do we think? Or will it still be a scramble? I know it states the below: ‘As a reminder, this link and code do not guarantee tickets, they just give you access to join the sale. Ticket availability is limited. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis while currently available inventory lasts.’ … but the sheer number of people seemingly on the waiting list seems to indicate they haven’t handed codes out too generously.

Oooo I got my code through for the Liverpool dates!! Part 1 of 2 done successfully completed.

Sat here waiting impatiently for my email. Wonder when they’ll start to be sent out - spread across the day or just in one big bang at a set time?

That’s superb - what an artist she is!

I think the way it was designed has kind of screwed over the most loyal and dedicated fans hasn't it. The initial excitement and scramble to get any tickets they could get their hands on - the kind of golden ticket effect. If I’m being cynical I would think this was done deliberately to shift the expensive VIP ones in particular, which would be harder to shift in any general sale. In reality, it’s possible that if it does go on general sale, then somebody could waltz in an get great seats or even standing tickets (although I expect the vast majority of these to go with the code release). Still .. it’s good to know you’re going to be there regardless.

They seem to have handled it very well by all accounts (so far). Do wonder if all ticket sales for arena and stadium shows could go the way of pre-registering before ticket sale day in future? Not sure on the logistics for the ticket companies in doing this, but would definitely save a lot of traffic on ticket day to help with their servers if it gets rid of the chancers and people who aren’t really that interested. Even if everybody who registered gets a code to enter, it would still ease congestion a lot.

Great thanks - thought so, but wasn’t sure as I am hearing lots of people (on here and elsewhere) getting tickets. Didn’t realise so many had registered for the Midnights presale - very much regret not doing so at the time!!

IJust reading the email from last week again, and in particular this part: “All registrants will receive a further email from either Ticketmaster or AXS confirming their selected/waitlist status by 23:59 Friday 14 July.” I’m still confused by this - have any of the non Midnights presale people got these emails yet? Or are they all expected to come in by Thursday/Friday?

Yeah I’m now seeing it this way too. Not a great way to treat the fans who are obviously the most dedicated and purchased Midnights - but one thing it does do by targeting these fans is ensuring some of the less desirable seats and/or VIP packages are snapped up in the first wave, something which more ‘casual’ fans may be more reluctant to do given the prices.

Yeah was just thinking this. People are scrambling and taking seats they don’t really want, VIP packages etc just to ensure they’re there. But nothing to say that you couldn’t have just accessed on the other sale dates and accessed a ‘better’ ticket with much more ease.

I genuinely don’t think the rest of the band know what pace Alex is going to sing at, so they just pick a beat and he sings around it. Pretty certain it’s all just a case of how he’s feeling on the night, but it must be a nightmare for the band to try to constantly adapt to it.

Local Natives is a nice chilled out listen. Really underrated band with some very good output over the years. Oh, and Pigeon Detectives new one!! Got it on now and it’s not actually sounding too bad! Very much enjoying the nostalgia.

Are any acts offering like a subscription membership service for ‘£x per year’ and that gets you some merchandise, discount from album sale etc, and then first access to any tour dates? Similar to how football clubs operate I guess. Could definitely see that the route these mega artists go down in future. Guaranteed revenue stream, and means they don’t have to bother with this album and presale faffing.

That’s a good plan. Think the majority will be rushing for the standing ones and then have the seated as a backup when they sell in a flash. But by the time the standing have gone, I’d imagine the seating will be slim pickings too .. so i like you’re thinking there. Might do the same myself.

Personally I don’t see the issue with artists selling the restricted view seats. For artists with such phenomenal demand, these type of seats are giving thousands more people the opportunity to ‘see’ them perform live. Yes, the pricing should probably be much more heavily reduced for these seats, however it is an open market and people are aware of these seats before purchasing - it’s not as if they turn up to be randomly allocated there. If the punters are happy to buy these to at least be in the same venue and soak up the atmosphere, then I think it’s fair enough for me. Although I’d personally never buy them in a million years!

I’d say golden circle at £150 there seems pretty fair and good value in this day and age. They’ll be so difficult to get hold of though!

That’s what I thought too, but wasn’t sure with the staggered times how that work work. Everybody will have 3 chances essentially. Liverpool Saturday 15th for example is the date I want .. but I can’t really put all eggs in that basket can I? So will have to start with the Thursday and work my way down?

Probably a stupid question but I’m genuinely stumped with all of this - if lucky and given a code for your chosen City, will you only get given the access for a specific date? I don’t remember selecting a date - and what about the newly added ones?

Wow just received the email .. could it be any more confusing!? Bring back camping out/queuing up in person at the box office!
  21. Also as mentioned in here at the time of the performance, I don’t think we’ll see numbers of that size for a single act ever again. If it successfully survived that, then I don’t think anything else will compare.

    2023 New Music

The Japanese House new one is really, really good. Going to get a lot of plays I think. Enjoyed Nothing But Thieves too, but generally find their albums a real mixture of hit and miss. But when they’re good, they’re great. New single from The Last Dinner Party is a cracker too. Not instantly at the heights of Nothing Matters, but a very solid follow up. Can’t wait for the album (whenever that may be!!)

    Lana Del Rey Curfew

All this is very true, plus the fact in Macca, we’re talking about probably the most important and recognised musician that has ever graced the planet. With that comes additional privileges that anybody else (including LDR) just aren’t going to get. Surely this is obvious, and I find it quite staggering that the ‘sexism’ card is being played here at all.

Looking at the comments from the official Glastonbury page posting about Carhenge - looks like they’re being mobbed by angry Lana fans!

    Lana Del Rey Curfew

Can I ask why? Just because you clearly are such a fan of her? I don’t think AM and GnR were necessarily the correct choice of headliner, but AM are the biggest UK band of the past 20 years, are touring a new album and haven’t played the festival in 10 years. GnR are undeniably one of the biggest rock bands of all, making their debut at the festival, with the original band back together. I am a really big Lana fan, but I think she’d get lost as a pyramid headliner. She just isn’t a household name in the UK (probably wrongly due to how good she is).
