I guess it’s because she’s never posted something like this before, as far as people are aware? And assuming the record for biggest take up before this must have been at some point in the last 10 years - and most likely in the last couple of years. So it does seem a conscious decision to choose to mention it now and never before, against the backdrop of the lineup being the most negatively received in recent times. That, and everybody loves a conspiracy these days for every single event that happens.

Not saying for one minute I don’t believe Emily or that she is lying, but her statement certainly just pours over all the negative comments re the lineup - which there is no denying there have been this year. So even if her statement isn’t true, it is a very tactical and well placed one.

In a similar note, there can’t have been many acts who have headlined The Other Stage who don’t have a single ‘hit’ that the casual music fan would know (in the UK at least). I mean, what would their one song be at a push? Have they had any singles with radio airtime? They are more well known for the Dessner/Swift connection than their own music. I adore them, so obviously these are not my personal views and everybody else is missing out.

I’ll hold my hands up, Alien had previously failed to really grab my attention and was one I glossed over. But since you posted this, I have given it the time and attention it deserves .. and you are quite right - a really great song song! So, thank you!

Have the latest two albums suddenly really clicked with anybody else recently? Whilst I did enjoy them when they were originally released, I can’t stop listening to them lately. I think a combined 12 song album would be right up there with their very best. Something like: 1. Deep End (Paul’s in Pieces) 2. Eucalyptus 3. New Order T-Shirt 4. Weird Goodbyes (ft. Bon Iver) 5. This Isn’t Helping (ft. Phoebe Bridgers) 6. Once Upon a Poolside (ft. Surfjan Stevens) 7. Tropic Morning News 8. The Alcott (ft. Taylor Swift) 9. Grease In Your Hair 10. Alphabet City 11. Hornets 12. Smoke Detector Really can’t wait to see them multiple times this summer. What a band!

I think if you’ve enjoyed those two, then hopefully there is every chance it will all just click together with TWFM.

Anybody watched the Eras show on Disney+ yet? Having tickets for Liverpool later in the year I’m going to avoid it, although I’m not sure if it would actually be a ‘spoiler’ or not.

Generally speaking, does the strength of the three Pryamid headliners alone have a lot of weight as to how the lineup is received, regardless of the acts underneath? Or does this go for the whole Pyramid itself and not just the headliners? If the same lineup had Fleetwood Mac, Taylor Swift and Stevie Wonder at the top would it be a completely different attitude?

Add Master Piece’s debut album to that list. A real blend of indie styles in one album, I really enjoyed it!

Wow, really surprised by how good that MGMT album is. I was impressed by the singles they released, but was expecting it to be front loaded and then the rest be ‘duds’. But it’s a great album, and sounds very ‘fresh’ considering their first album is 17 years old!

The new Middle Kids album is really good! The return of the chilled, summer vibes is just around the corner.

I’d say the terrible allegations may be playing a part in this, but I think more-so is the lack of new material. If they had a new album confirmed for this year, then I’m sure they’d still be in the mix with the bookers.

Well .. all non-music issues aside for a moment (if that is even possible), but Vultures 1 is sounding pretty damn good. Both his rapping and singing are very impressive, and this is an unexpected return to nearing his top form I would say

Well, what great news to wake up to. From the album title alone, I’m guessing (and hoping) this will be return to a folklore style. Would expect 4/5 new songs in a setlist, so yeah I’m guessing Midnights will be the victim. And maybe the ‘surprise songs’ may have to be culled to get them in.

But I guess that isn’t unique to the music industry - I would say this happens more or less in every walk of life. Regardless of how you get there, you need to have the talent to stay there or it will be very short lived.

The Last Dinner Party album is sounding great, although can’t help it has been spoiled somewhat by all the hype and the lead singles being released months in advance.

Well the new one from glass beach is certainly a move away from their debut - there is a lot going on and to process, but I think I like it a lot! Not much else today for me - given the new Green Day one a cursory listen and it seems fine.

Bill Ryder-Jones’ new one is superb - it’s getting excellent reviews too across the board too.

On a pretty quiet day for new releases, the new Spector album is very good.

No chance this year as Liam is doing his solo tour up until the Friday of the festival. I think the financial hit of Noel’s divorce will only add fuel to the fire of them getting back together - can certainly see it for 2025

There has more than sheet luck at play if people are getting in 14 times!! And because that is the case, it’s why it appears so unfair for many who miss out.

The ticket prices to see her are undeniably high, but that is naturally going to come with being the biggest star on the planet. She’s doing a 3 hour, career defining setlist and putting on a spectacular show, so it’s not as if she’s short changing fans in any way - I think she does appreciate her fans. She does seem to be a decent honest person, who has gained stardom. It will also be her management being all the commercial decisions anyway, not sure how much of a say she really has. Plus assuming she may want to start a family soon and this is probably her last tour for some time, she is entitled to ride the train for this tour I would say, and milk it as much as she can.

Nothing yet again - every year I am unsuccessful, I just think of how lucky I was with a run a 7 straight festivals in my teens/twenties. Our group have this morning decided we probably won’t try again going forward. Even if a couple of us get through, the chance of all 12 of us getting lucky is very very slim. Even if I don’t end up going back to the farm ever again, those memories can never be taken away!
