  1. There has more than sheet luck at play if people are getting in 14 times!! And because that is the case, it’s why it appears so unfair for many who miss out.

    Taylor swift

The ticket prices to see her are undeniably high, but that is naturally going to come with being the biggest star on the planet. She’s doing a 3 hour, career defining setlist and putting on a spectacular show, so it’s not as if she’s short changing fans in any way - I think she does appreciate her fans. She does seem to be a decent honest person, who has gained stardom. It will also be her management being all the commercial decisions anyway, not sure how much of a say she really has. Plus assuming she may want to start a family soon and this is probably her last tour for some time, she is entitled to ride the train for this tour I would say, and milk it as much as she can.
  3. Nothing yet again - every year I am unsuccessful, I just think of how lucky I was with a run a 7 straight festivals in my teens/twenties. Our group have this morning decided we probably won’t try again going forward. Even if a couple of us get through, the chance of all 12 of us getting lucky is very very slim. Even if I don’t end up going back to the farm ever again, those memories can never be taken away!
  4. Maybe, but I think you’ll end up with a lot of people who won’t be impressed with either to be honest - particularly the younger attendees.
  5. If you like them on record, then chances are you’ll enjoy them live. If you’re not really into them, or are even just a casual fan, then I don’t think they’d blow you over by them live. They have somewhat of a huge cult following, which makes for fantastic atmospheres at their own gigs - I don’t think they are a great festival band for this reason.
  6. And that 99% confirms the Sunday I would say. Also - Castlefield Bowl, yes please!!

There Will Be Fireworks album really is incredible - had it on repeat all day. Making a late surge for a high placing in my AOTY listing. For those who are not familiar, I strongly recommend a listen.

Two absolutely cracking albums from There Will Be Fireworks and Hotline TNT today.

Sampha’s new album is a thing of real beauty. Lovely stuff.
  11. I re-registered on Monday and haven’t had any confirmation or approval message back yet. No idea what is going on. All I know if I don’t have a current valid registration, despite me checking multiple times and being told I had!
  12. Exactly the same has happened to me!
  13. Incredibly tough to cut those down to 25 songs, but I would go for (A-Z): Abel About Today Afraid of Everyone Bloodbuzz Ohio Day I Die Don’t Swallow The Cap England Fake Empire Graceless Green Gloves I Need My Girl I Should Live In Salt Lemonworld Light Years Mistaken For Strangers Mr November Pink Rabbits Slow Show Smoke Detector Sorrow Terrible Love The Geese of Beverly Road The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks Weird Goodbyes So hard to leave some out, but that is 15 songs from night one, and 10 songs from night two. Can’t belive some people got to see 58 incredible songs performed by an incredible band across two nights!!
  14. Wish they would have announced in advance that they were planning the split setlist across the two nights. I would definitely have made the effort to stay over the two nights and attend both shows. Very jealous of those who managed to get to both! Currently trying to combine the two for my ultimate 25 song setlist.
  15. Anybody else really loving Laugh Track? I can’t stop listening to it! I liked initially without being blown away, but I have really connected with it with every listen. Hornets is a top 5 track in the making. Would have loved to have been there the last two nights.

Would highly recommend Chappell Roan’s debut album. Absolutely superb.
  17. Really loving the album - probably my favourite since Trouble Will Find Me. Hornets is such a great song, it’s got potential to be a grower into one of their very best I think.
  18. Aye that’s a cracker. They could have released a very strong album if they’d have just picked the best 5/6 songs from each of their recent releases. Not a fan of these double albums really.
  19. Yep, and whisper it quietly .. but I would say they might be ‘back’. Really enjoyed it on first listen and back to their best sound after their last two average albums. As always with them, will need multiple listens to fully connect with it, but it’s certainly grabbed me for the first time since SWB.
  20. I think they could coincide a payment plan with reaching the £400 mark. That way the sting of breaking this barrier will be somewhat offset with the ability to pay in manageable chunks.

Romy’s album is a serious contender for my AOTY. Can’t stop listening to it - just really wish it was ready for release earlier in the year as it would have been a perfect summer soundtrack and fitted in perfectly in the festival season.

Can’t believe I missed Romy off the listen. Listened to that twice already today and absolutely loving it! And agree, been a quiet last month or so for new releases, but today more than makes up for it!

Absolutely stacked day for new releases today - Olivia Rodrigo, James Blake, The Chemical Brothers, Róisín Murphy, The Coral.

Wouldn’t say I’m a big fan of him by any means, but bloody hell that new Hozier album is a cracker!!
  25. Really enjoying the split in Space Invader. The last half has the energy that’s been lacking from the past few albums.
