I feel for you mate, I really do.

Where I shall be perservering, knowing that Pearl Jam get ever closer...you get them on the first night and then have the rest of the weekend to suffer dire bands...harsh.

'I'd rather watch [the Kaiser Chiefs] then f**king Pearl Jam'. I don't get Bongo's point. Is he saying that Pearl Jam should be swaping with Franz Ferdinand or what?

Kinda leftfield and late in the day for that kinda idea, but hey?!

I have it all sussed mate. Catch Pearl Jam whilst reasonably sobre, then let the liberty of not having to catch anyone in particular be the only becon. I can spend the next two days concentrating on other matters, like annoying everyone by explaining to them in a pompish manner that the band on stage at any given moment are 'ok, but nowt on PJ' for the rest of the weekend.

I see the Cult have made an appearence on the old sound system bud.

For the hordes of you not listening to 'Sobre' at the moment I have some news you may or may not know..................Tool rock, and not in any limp Motley Crue kinda way.

Glad we got that cleared up, it was doing my head in.

as the masses were silenced by the preaching of olivavu and cultseeker on passage 12 section 13 of Thy Almighty Pearl Jam... a few days ago cultseeker was being roasted alive under a fire of angry words... suddenly its all gone, clearly olivavu has hidden powers.

It's a coincidence.

No, apart from some mild flaming and gratuitous mentioning of Placebo, he hasn't been too objectionable today. And I'll let him have his 100th 'ooh, ahh, Pearl Jam are just soooo f**king good, maaaan' post, because the festival ain't too far away and the excitement is building.

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?    Just had another thought - Or even rent the land to the festival for CV pitches.......
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
