Pinkpop 2026

What an outstanding festival this year. Every artist I watched was truly outstanding and a the line-up really did represent best in class across so many genres. Already counting down to next year (19,20,21 June).

I thought I'd kick-off a thread, as it seems many at this years festival were expecting Metallica to be on next years bill!

My early 2026 prediction.... 😀

Friday: Fontaines D.C.
Saturday: Billie Eilish
Sunday: Metallica

I suspect the Linkin Park thing will be in the mix, but I'm hoping it isn't!!!

We were potentially doing Pinkpop this year, havin never been, but things didn't work as planned. So keeping an eye for next year.

I saw in another thread that you mention you can stay in hotels near(ish) by and take shuttle buses - great info!

Would love Metallica on there. But, like you, happy if LP weren't in the mix 😄

Valkenburg and Heerlen are best if you want to stay local to the Festival. Heerlen is just a 5min train. Valkenburg is 10min into Heerlen and then a 5min wait and the Heerlen train. The festival then has shuttle buses, but after the last headliner, it is a 15-20min walk to the station.

Suspect Metallica might be unlikely now, as they are doing a no repeat show over the 19th and 21st in Dublin!

Metallica playing in Dublin friday/sunday.

Linkin Park without NL dates are very likely because they are ruled out from Graspop.

How much does that cost and what's included please?

This year we had a 4 person tipi. It had 4 beds, with linen / pillows, power points, light, mirror and some storage. We also had 4 deck chairs. Was 270 euro each. On site, you have access to waterpoints, loads of showers (I never had a wait) and there is a bar, food and a shop etc. Obviously, that doesn't include your weekend festival ticket. It also has it's own shuttle bus to and from Landgraaf station which is included.

sounds good. But for 1000euros+, I think we'd rather rough it! Hahaha

They have other options, some cheaper with more basic tents. Also Festitent have some good value options in the main campsites. We costed it up, and we bagged dirt cheap flights (with just small bag and no luggage), so it made it a more cost effective option this year. If we added luggage and all that, then we'd of probably looked at Festitents.

Seen the leak that System of a Down are in Europe June/July next year. Specifically Berlin 2nd July. Would be a fantastic booking for Pinkpop. You would hope they (SOAD) will pickup some festival headlines while this side of the pond. Would be just short of a decade since they last played Pinkpop 2017 (and 2002 before that).

Suspect Linkin Park would be too tight. Probably only Friday 19th to allow logistics to Portugal? (Personally think the new LP project would be underwhelming, but I'd watch a bit of it out of curiosity).
16 Lyon, France – Groupama Stadium

21 Lisbon, Portugal – Rock in Rio Lisboa
23 Madrid, Spain – Auditorio Miguel Ríos

The announced Bad Bunny tour dates would be perfectly timed to make an appearance, but he is performing in Arnhem (up-north) in the Netherlands, so it wouldn't be exclusive.

My guess 😄

Friday

Chappell Roan
Benson Boone (Sub-Headline)

Saturday
Fontaines D.C.
Mumford and Sons

Sunday
System of a Down
Sleep Token (Sub-Headline)

Foo Fighters??

I suspect they are in the mix and likely. Would be a significantly better booking than the Linkin Park (who I suspect are now unlikely given the confirmed dates).

Seems Foos were doing the festival run before the marital shenanigans went down. So, pushed those plans back a year. That said, I do think SOAD would be the premium heavier act for a festival in 2026. Foo Fighters, just feel to never stop touring, and I don’t see the pull factor they had a decade ago. I’m probably in the minority.

AFI would be a great addition to the lineup! Get the impression they are hyping a big 2026!

Hope so, need to finally see them as it's one of my favourite bands and they haven't been in Europe (bar UK) for fifteen years...

Radiohead in front of the modern day Pinkpop crowd would be a massive mismatch.

Really? I think they would still go down very well. Pinkpop still responds positively to a good legacy act.

Does anyone think SOAD would do a similar slot to Korn this year? Sub-headline.

Look at Pinkpop's lineups over the past ten years and how much commercial stuff they book, which thus also attract similar crowds. Radiohead is too out there. The alternative festival audience in The Netherlands now attend Down The Rabbit Hole and Best Kept Secret.

How are Linkin Park unlikely if they are free on June 19 and so far no announced show in Netherlands?

Ah yeah. I thought the logistics to get from Holland to Lisbon with the production, might be a bit tight. I got it in my head they had a date on the 20th.

Love the original Linkin Park, but the new stuff is utterly abysmal. I’ll hit a bar / watch from the back if they appear. I could stomach them as a sub-headliner, or earlier in the day. Is obviously a reason some of their US dates had to be downsized and ticket prices slashed.

*I’ll add that I’m probably in a minority on LP somewhat, and I might even end up enjoying the live show. I’m always more than happy to check out things that challenge my interests / views etc. Part of why I always enjoy the breadth of a Pinkpop lineup so much.
