Crew camping/campervan question

Hi.  I've got crew tickets and wondered if I would be allowed to bring my campervan & tent into the Silver Hayes crew camping area?   I know I'm allowed to camp in this area but what about the van ?

Are there any workers on here that might know please?

Cheers.

I would check with your crew manager as crew facilities differ a great deal.

one of the things to check - are you Crew as in worker on construction/decor etc or crew as in a GFEL volunteer? if the latter then there were only 300 spaces for campervans in the GFEL camosite and they went within 30 seconds of being released - my team tried and were unsuccessful. If crew as in real worker then what @StoneCircle says is bang on

You'll definitely need a vehicle pass if crew.

They are like rocking horse poo.

Things changed a little in 2023.

There are two main types of vehicle pass that cover live-in vehicles, camper vans etc. The onsite pass and the early vehicle pass.

In previous years the early pass.(Red Gate access) , despite saying on it that it expired at 22.00 on the Saturday before, was valid for getting onsite after the deadline. Strictly it didn't allow you to stay onsite longterm but that wasn't enforced by all areas.

Come Sunday morning 2023 and a certain amount of chaos ensued. The deadline on the early VPs was being enforced. I had no idea until I was returning back to site with another load of woody stuff on the Sunday afternoon. I was rather puzzled as I got closer to the site to see every lay-by and stopping place full of festival vehicles with the drivers on their phones looking really stressed! I got to Red Gate only to be turned away. Thankfully I was able to get things sorted pretty quickly.

Anyway, to conclude , the festival never have enough VPs for everyone and ,TBH, if you haven't already been issued one I think that it's far too late.

I'm afraid that the chance of getting a vehicle onsite without a VP really are literally zero.

    • Wednesday is a nice addition imo
    • Kronenberg in a tent as well IIRC but Brooklyn Pilsner was easier to get without queueing and was everywhere across the festival.
    • I think they'll end up doing something due to pressure and bad PR. Maybe they do a discount code for next year or bar credit or something along those lines.    I agree though. I acknowledge that the lineup is huge but surely you can't cancel 33% of the headliners and not reimburse in some way. Their insurance will probably cover their fees for MA, Doja, Bad Gyal and Mac DeMarco due to force majeure.
    • Looks like nothing for weekend ticket holders. You'd expect a goodwill gesture.
    • Enough has been covered about how much of a sh*t show that was, so I'll just say, Massive Attack and it's relationship with this festival (and potentially me) are f**king cursed.    They were announced in 2020 when I first got excited about seeing them. They were subsequently on the poster for 21, 22 and now 26. This time I was in actually in the crowd close to the stage waiting for them twice haha. I give up!
