Does anyone know if people who are going to the festival early for work are able to take extra tents in with them to set up? I have a friend who is going to work at greenpeace, she has to get there on saturday, we were hoping to get 5 tents to her over the weekend/ before the gates open on weds morning so she could set up for us..

Has anyone done this before or know anybody that has?Hoping for a head start against the queue & not having to get up at 3am like we did last year!

Any info greatly appreciated - if not guess it'll be another early start for a good spot!  😁

No tents can be erected until after 8am on Wednesday, any put up before then will be taken down. 👍🏻

Hi, I volunteer for Oxfam and have taken tents to put up for family/friends.  As mentioned, anything put up before gates are opened to the public will be taken down and removed from site, but after gates open is fine.  Just depends on shift timings - a Weds am shift would make it difficult as eg the Oxfam Weds early shift starts 6am and wouldn't finish till 2pm, so likely earliest you could put tent up is 2.30 pm.  But if not working that morning should be no problem other than effort of putting up 5 tents!

We've done this in the past. Just make sure the tents don't go up before the gates open (ish). Field stewards usually give nod when it's ok to do so.

Ps  Make sure you reward your friend with lots of beers

As others have said, yes. My brother-in-law has done this before when he was working on site. He set up two tents in Pennards for my sister at 8am on Wednesday. Obviously that was massively helpful. apart from the fact that for some unknow reason he decided to do it smack in the middle of the field, making it difficult to get in and out to. Ideally anyone setting up a tent for you would do so about 10-20 feet from the pathways, meaning you're easily able to access it without the risk of passers by falling on it.
