Drop and Collect Point - First-timer advice needed please!

I am coming to Glastonbury for the first time this June. Two of us are getting the train down on the Tuesday and are staying in an Airbnb close to the site, so we can get in early on Wednesday and get a good spot to camp before the rest of the group arrive Wednesday afternoon.

I think I am right in saying our best bet to get into the festival early is to use the drop and collect point at the Bath and West Showground? I was wondering if anyone has used this before and could give us any advice, mainly what time should we arrive? I was thinking of booking a taxi about 5/5:30am (we're 5 minutes drive from the Showground), will this be alright or should we be going earlier/later?

And if anyone has any alternative suggestions on how to get there on Wednesday, let me know!

You might want to bear in mind that the showground won't start taking people over until midday on the Wednesday (according to the Glastonbury website).

What you *could* do, if you are able to get there, is maybe see if you can get dropped off at Castle Cary station. Maybe look at what time the earliest train will be arriving is and aim to arrive maybe just before then. You will then be able to make use of the free shuttle bus ;) Will get you there earlier than the showground.

The shuttle from B&W Showground actually runs from 12:01am on Wednesday not midday as incorrectly advised by @Joshuwarr above so you will be fine. I have no advice on what time is best, apologies!  The screenshot below is taken from here https://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/information/getting-here/2592-2/ :)

    • Guitarricadelafuente was bloody brilliant tonight. This is going to be a very Spanish focussed year for me. Rusowsky dragging out Las Ketchup on Saturday has the potential to be a Prima magic moment.
    • £112 for standard entry. No thank you.
    • Meanwhile Gracie Abrams is £92 for the cheapest with the average price around £160 for lower tier and £103 standing.   First time in a while I've gone from a definite yes to a definite no on price alone.   Amble was £31 this morning.
