I first went in 1999 and these are the ones I have missed and what I did

2001 - went round Scotland on my motorbike

2006 - Loads of us went to Roskilde ( what a line up )

2012 -  Attended Solstice Celebration Festival  ( what a mud bath )

2013 - Did not get tickets to did not mope about it so we hired a Classic VW camper and toured the Highlands & Islands of Scotland

2016 - Line up for me was terrible , took our camper to Wales for a week , got back home in time to watch bits of the festival on the telly

The only year I've missed since 2002 is 2013, where we had to opt out due to money problems. We ended up going on a very cheap holiday over the same week, but we did watch some of the festival on telly. It felt very strange, and not in a good way.

I wasn't too bothered at all watching Mumfords and even the Stones on TV, but I reached new levels of guttedness watching Portishead :(

Only missed 1 since 1982 and that was 2009 as I had to go to a wedding so that distracted me.

Not sure about this year yet. Hoping to make it. but this year could be my last (apart from the 50th) as the appealing is waning with crowds, queues etc

    • Ok, ok, I have done it! Not because of limitless upvoats but to support the Efestivals site.
    • She was/is 100% in the mix, but I don't know specific timings and how it relates to that interview. They've clearly gone after her, again.   It could be read in a number of ways - she was in negotiations at that point, she was talking about BST (and he's interpreted it, as we have, as Glastonbury). Who knows
    • So sad to see the news that John Douglas of the Trashcan Sinatras has died. They only released their latest album last week and it is wonderful.  So underrated and a member of such a great long running band that have meant so much to me over the last 40 years. https://trashcansinatras.com/blogs/news/john-douglas-1963-2026
    • listening to jamie east's podcast earlier he said that he'd heard fender is confirmed, and that as of 2 weeks ago Madonna hadn't been approached.
    • which would make that Graham Norton interview nonsense .... although obviously things change
