First timer - anybody been to laughter workshop?

Has anybody ever been to this? I'm really excited about the Healing Fields! (It's one of the main reasons I chose Glastonbury as my first festival)  And I've read a lot about the laughter workshop which sounds so interesting! I'd love to know if anyone has been before

I've walked past it, and it's infections! At first you think it looks really stupid, but then you keep watching and you laugh along too, not at anyone but with them. And then we wandered off with big smiles on our faces loving the festival even more

Ah thank you so much!!  It sounds brilliant! I really do want to do it - get those endorphins up haha. I'm into anything like that where it's about healing & trying new things with a new approach to life. So I thought I'd ask around & make sure it's genuine & not just taking the mick like, but sounds worth a shot!

I haven't been to the laughter workshop, but if it's something you think you'll like, give it ago.  I think you would really enjoy Jonathan Kay in the theatre and circus fields... I cannot recommend enough tagging along for his show one of the days.  

Enjoy your festival, I have goosebumps of envy,. I wish I could do Glasto for the first time again

In my non glasto life I run a domestic abuse project - we buy in 'Laughter Yoga'. It's ace, do it!

We went to the laughter workshop in 2011, it was a bit forced at first,  but got more relaxed as it went on.  Not really my thing I guess,  but harmless.  Jonathan Kay on the other hand is superb especially if it's not raining!

I went to one at Shamballa. We felt a bit daft at first, so did lots of other people. We really enjoyed overall.   It makes me feel happy when I remember it.

I second this!  I've only been to one Glastonbury and stumbled across Jonathan Kay in the theatre field - it was one of the highlights of the festival for me - completely bonkers and hilarious!  I am definitely seeking him out again this year.

So, who is this Jonathan Kay? Is he usually in the theatre field?

Just go.  No spoilers here . Yes, theatre fields, i think it starts in astrolabe.  He plays everyday

Yes I agree with @funkyuk - so much better if you don't know what to expect!

@Beerqueenthat's the key to so much of the theatre fields... Just stumbling on stuff that stays with you forever.

Yep - I'm really looking forward to doing it again this year!  I wandered off on my own last time (2014) to go there and was so glad I did - I had a fixed grin on my face the whole time I was there!  I am primarily going on my own this year - my daughter's working there but will be free in the mornings so I might take her along - last time she wanted to see bands she'd heard of but having worked there last year, she realises that the "stumbled across" stuff is the best!  

There was also a storyteller in a little cubicle thingy on the back of a bike called Raisin Flower I think.  Bizarre.
