Cheers. Just trying to decide between Kendal and Y Not. My mate loves Ash but seems a lot of money to spend £30 more on the weekend ticket then £25-30 on the Thursday ticket just for that!!

For your £30 youll get ash and the charlatans plus probably 2 other bands and a better camping spot as theyll probably do the same as last year and limit thursday to around 50% of the capacity. Doing it that way splits the crowd entry  over 2 days

This is a fair point Ramrage...........but........I remember moaning about this last year. Why is it not just the one price and a 4 day festival ?

I think it`s a bit off announcing  a Thursday headliner and then adding that you have to fork out an extra 30 badgers to see them. Nothing much else was open ( including the entrance from emperors ) and we still had to q for ages to get in on the Thursday.

I accept I am a moaning git of course. I got from Scotland to the gate quicker that I got from the gate to the car park last year.

It`s pretty expensive when you add in the Thursday and all the ticket fees.

could the site cope with 25,000 (or whatever the number is now) people arriving on the same day? took us about 5 hours to get there and in last year which was crap for a 60 minute journey, although I'm sure the organisers would admit (perhaps not publicly!) that they royally fecked up the traffic entry etc last year imagine that with double the cars etc trying to get in.

Boy has turned 11 this year so we have to pay for him now + we've said both kids can bring a mate so we've been hit crazy £wise what with the Thursday entries, Emperors & Booking fees on top. We do have a ball though!

So if I already have a full weekend ticket with Thursday camping, do I still have to pay extra to see the Thursday bands?

nope the Thursday ticket gets you in and you'll get your weekend wristband then which'll get you into the main arena when it opens (was 5ish last year I think)

Thanks, from what I was reading it seemed like you still needed to get buy an extra ticket to see the bands on thursday even if you have thursday camping.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
