Ok.  First 23 folks to pitch in with me to purchase can be my business partners.

I think people should understand this isn't just an easy ticket into the festival. It's a complete lifestyle change and would involve a LOT of hard graft.

And I should add that they don't just attend Glastonbury, it means going to other events, private, corporate and other festivals.

I know.  A complete lifestyle change but I'm definitely interested.  I'll maybe contact them.

That does sound wonderful, but definitely not something I can afford at the moment!

It's the sort of thing I'd love to do in the future but would need much more experience before even considering taking on something like that!

If they had a better mobile connection at Glasto you could wire the cinema up to Netflix..... Not much effort in that

£500 quid each...

It sounds cheap but can you imagine the logistical nightmare of owning a business that small between that many people? It just wouldn't work.

It's quite tricky with what you can show as you need licences and permission to show certain things to larger groups of people. There's a lot of background to it.

I was considering it but I'm already a shareholder and run a business with my dad. Got enough on my plate unfortunately!

i guess you'd need to run it as a co-operative or a limited company with clear responsibilities to share the load.  It wouldn't make tons of money but as long as everyone appreciated that, and was willing to do the work.

Keep those kinda films private :nono:

Not those kinds of movies!  No I do actually make little movies of my dogs and while I'm out and about, I love playing around with filming and editing, more arty than blog-style though. Had a Youtube last year whilst I worked for Lush and did filming of bath bombs and stuff.

I've funded a Hollywood movie via Kickstarter 'Adam Rifkin's Directirs Cut' but they can't find a distributor. It's done a few film festivals in America but no one wants it :(

I'll never get to see my name on the silver screen now

    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
    • Potentially rogue shout here but could see Rebecca Black in the running for a mid-afternoon spot. I know most people still remember her for Friday but lately she’s been putting out a lot of fun pop bangers, think this could be a very fun booking!
    • FFS why when there are pull outs does it always include so many of the names I had as must sees!
    • This is a pretty petulant stance.   I oppose him headlining because I love coming to Slam Dunk and he would be a very big reason why I wouldn't come. That doesn't mean they can't choose to do so, they obviously can, I would just stop coming to that version of Slam Dunk.   Another name that I'll throw out there as name I'd love is Biffy Clyro.
    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
