Taxi to offsite accommodation

Any near Gate D? We are off site as well every night so getting a taxi would be good but not sure if there's a rank or you need to call them to come...

I would doubt they would want them driving in and out of a parking area
so unless things change it would be - Steanbow layby A361.

I have seen posts on here before where people have said that they have managed to get a taxi from Steanbow layby which looks as if it is a short walk from Gate 'A'. Obviously what I do not know is whether taxis turn up there 'on spec' or whether you need to book to get one to pick you up? My first year off site after 10 years in tent / campervan / caravan so it will be interesting to see how it goes.

I would suggest trying to pre-book with some specific times, my only experience of taxis in the area was from the Pilton Party last year, we were staying a few miles away and it was a bloody nightmare to get a taxi!

Taxi rank is just on the other side of the main road as you leave the coach park outside gate A. Last year I got the coach in and out and there were plenty of taxis there - not sure if they just waited hoping to get a fare or were pre booked

Depending where you are heading to the coaches go hourly to Shepton mallet and Glastonbury town so might be an option to

I used that bus service myself last year. Pretty good way to do it I think. Once you are in Shepton I think there would be a better chance of getting a cab to wherever you need to go. All that being said I have no experience getting a cab from site.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
