Bushy Ground - any good?

Hi all

Only just realised that the Paines area is now crew only (!!) which is where we were gonna set up.

I see 'Bushy Ground' is close to this - could anyone who's camped there tell me what it is like?

All camp sites are fine, it's just a matter of where you want to be near and how much walking you want to do with your stuff vs how much walking you want to do over the weekend.

not many bushes, but the ground is there OK.

Quiet at night and not too busy last year.

Was quiet last year apart from one guy who camped next to us with a noisy horn, got taken off him by security on Friday anyway.

Is a sloping so don't camp too near the bottom.

Was fairly sparse last year, will be plenty of room if arriving late Wednesday and/or Thursday

To get anywhere from Bushy Ground do you have to either walk back through Paines/Dairy or up through River Mead/Pylon? I assume the walkways through the no public access are closed?

Yeah its a mission to walk round, though from the map when we went last year that it would be ok to walk right along the railway but you end up walking through half of the dairy ground too.

All in all though its worth it just for the nice toilets, space and quietness.

Could I ask - after you walk through gate D - where is it? Sounds stupid maybe but Bushy Ground isn't going to be sign posted. I know I can just ask someone but would be good to know. Ive checked the map but how far do you walk before turning left?

If you come through Gate D and turn left, you're pretty much at the top of Bushy Ground already.

Camped there for the last 4 festivals. Always been quiet-ish and dry-ish, but getting anywhere else on site is a bit of a trek.

Yeah gate D is 5mins tops. Its also about 20mins walk to the other and Pyramid stages (in good conditions without a crowd)

I wonder why it's not popular? Maybe coz of the walking. I don't mind walking. Last year had to walk to the caravan site East every night and day and lost a few pounds from the massive walks every day!

How far is the walk to Other/Pyramid from Bushy Ground? This is where the majority of the acts I want to see are and will be spending my time. I imagine the place to be rammed with bushes lol
