Hi

Can you trust the property lock ups to leave money and valuables? What has been people's experiences? Positive and negative?

Absolutely leave valuables with them, as far as I know they've never had anything stolen, and they're free but a donation to CND would be nice :-)

I don't know who you know that works for them that you wouldn't trust, but I've always had great experiences

I don't think I've ever heard of items going missing/getting stolen from them.

i am the same as the other people, on here, i always leave my valuables in there especially my money when I'm not in the tent, i 100% trust them

100% safe only a fool would not use them, so not worth the risk.

Just to reiterate what’s been said above: the lock-ups are 100% safe & reliable, staffed by friendly & helpful volunteers. In over 20 years of using them the number of items I have had go missing is the same as for every other person that’s used them - zero. If you have anything of any value, be it monetary, sentimental or recreational then keep it safe in the lock-ups.

As others had said. Brilliant and higly recommended. Kept all my money and valuables in them last year. NB: Get one fairly near your tent as makes it easier when setting up for the day when you need to get money etc.

I wasn't trying to scare anyone. They are mates who have worked on them, but they always make out that they don't take things seriously! I wasn't saying anything had been nicked, and I don't appreciate being called a moron!

(I used to be a member of this site a couple of years back but had to get new member id as couldn't remember mine! I always had positive experiences from people on this board but not today. I think it's quite rude you making remarks like that.)

Hiya,

So basically they are a load of shelving units, on which people's valuables are stored in some form of numerical order, a bit like a cloakroom. The marquees themselves are secured with metal cages around the edges but internally it's just a massive storeroom. We usually take a small bag with us which we use as our "locker" which is booked in as a single item for ease but which has our spare money, car keys, cameras etc in it. We then go to the lockup each morning to get our cash out for the day, then last thing at night to put anything we need away.

You are given a ticket for your item (top tip - take a photo of it in case you lose it) which you use to get your item back. You need to give them some information (post code/address last yr) so if your ticket is lost someone else can't use it.

Hope that helps - cracking service, went there a couple of times a day last year.
