Taking 12 year old son - Do I need proof?

I am thinking of passing down the Glasto torch to my 12 year old son this year but wanted to check if I would need to bring any ID for him. He looks his age, so don't think there will be any problems but not sure how strict they are on the gate?

Any advice would be appreciated.

It may depend on who's on the gate at the time, but my advice would be better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it! Can you imagine how much of a pain in the arse it would be to have to go back home and get some? If it's something important like a passport, you can always put it in one of the property lock-ups once you're in.

He doesn't have a passport so I guess the next question is what kind of ID they would accept.

If you don't have a passport, and obviously, he won't have a driving license, then Glastonbury do say on their website that they accept another form of ID.

It's called a PASS ID and they use it for people who don't want to bring a passport/driving license to prove they're over 18 when buying alcohol etc.

Not sure whether you'd be able to get one as proof of age for a 12 year old, but it might be worth taking a look on their website

It doesn't refer to photo ID - assuming your son has the same surname as you I'd say his birth certificate would be fine as ID.

a great one to use is... http://www.ageentitlementcard.com/ part of the PASS scheme, most places will need photo ID, birth certificate is not valid ID as you could try and blag anyone one in with it, the Age Entitlement Card is about £20 and can be used many places as a form of Id, well worth checking out
