Overage boozing

The tips & tricks thread for those of us that are actually allowed to drink (tut tut children.)

What do people take? I have dentalplan down as a wino, yellow is clearly a lightweight & kaosmark probably drinks something strange.

Also, what are the 'official' offerings like? I was a mere young one when I last went.

Tuborg is the lager you will get everywhere if you actually pay inside the arena like some kind of wealthy moron. Think gaymers is the cider. Don't drink it, so don't know.

Either way. Buy beforehand. Take with you. Walk to the handy close tescos. Buy shitloads of whatever the hell you like.

Personally I usually take whiskey, a lot of lager, and jäger for when it's time to twerk.

Just as last year. For whatever your tipple(unless it's red wine). My tip this year is, once again, buy a cool bag or two, each morning buy 2 bags of ice (depending on your bag size). Rip open one bag put it in the bottom of the bag place your alcohol and/or mixer then apply the second bag of ice. Close the bag wait 10 mins and you have not just cold but damme cold alcohol. Should keep it chilled for the full day/night. Do the same again each day and never drink a warm festival drink again......

Go forth and live like kings.

what spirits do people take... i took a bottle of Vodka last time (as it was one bottle and easy to conceal and can go with soft drinks ect...)

However this year with the fact i am going to be an overage drinker :D and can take as much as i want what other stuff do people have? thinking tequila as i have a bottle and something else

Also is it possible to get plastic bottles of spirits? so not to get the glass bottles confiscated?

Also anyone making any different flavors of Vodka this year?

For me it's normally Guinness. Can drink so much of the stuff never hanging afterwards + it's my favourite drink other than wine. I reserve wine for after headliners as a nice treat :P

You're on, son. Blog vs blog. Let's do this.

Most things that are cheap, but I'll know in future not to buy it 'just cause it's cheap'. Brought this shitty sainsbury's rum last year and it ended up all going during drinking games, and everytime I had to take a shot of that filth, it felt like I was pouring gasoline down my throat. Also brought in a few crates of lager (forgot which, but it doesn't really matter, as most canned lager is totally shite), some white wine in a box, and of course, Jaeger.

I went even worse the year before and brought Carling. The free skol was more refreshing...

Next year, I think I'll stick with the white wine and jaeger, and might go ahead with what I did at Glasto, get a big bottle of JD when the best deal for it is on and stick it in a few plastic bottles with coke. As usual, I'll have my crate of shitey lager, which is easy enough to down for drinking games as I'm now used to drinking it in uni.

Does anybody get their booze into the arena? I managed to get a plastic bottle full of jaeger and red bull in last year, but I saw quite a few getting searched and stopped. I may just use the hip flask next year, as booze inside the arena is expensive!

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
