Why do students volunteer at Glastonbury?

Hi everyone,

Im a current final year student studying Sports Events Management at Leeds Met. For my dissertation this year im posing the question 'What motivates students to volunteer at UK music festivals?' If anyone has ever volunteered when they were, or still are, a student then id love to hear your opinions through my questionnaire. The links is below.

Because they know that Our Leader needs new blood year on year. Upon realising this they go all feral and root around on the ground and in bins etc for small morsals of food and dropped drugs. They do this in packs for greater protection from their rivals - the seagulls.

Well I run a large Group of Volunteers { currently 50 } and out of that lot there is only two people who are ' currently ' students and a free ticket is not the only reason why most people do it.

The facilities are the main reason as they are a lot better than the ticketholder's area.

sure a person has to work shifts but its a small price to pay.

I see hundreds of New Volunteers { not connected to my Group } each year and many are never seen again - perhaps they did not like the shifts - I just cant say as they are never seen again.

Most Volunteers dont have any choice as to who they work with - if they want to stick with their Mates they should buy a ticket.
