I have been to 3 different festivals in Ireland and 1 in the U.K.

Normally I would bring my own Drink with me but I know in each of these festivals there was off-sales in the campsite.

As this is my 1st Glasto i was hoping i could avail of this option rather than bringing my own alcohol all the way from Belfast.

Is it possible?

No there isn't.

But depending how you are getting to the site there are supermarkets in surrounding towns. Think the nearest is 3 miles away, and you can get a bus.

Or, you could pick it up wherever you land in England?

yea as people have said you can do a booze run ...depends wot day you get there really imo .....if you get there tue, wed, thur then really going to shepton will be great cos its a good mission but then fri sat sun you may not want to go and risk missing some of the festi in that case im sure if you ask around you can find some one that will sell you some alcohol.

years ago there were people selling stella 1for £2.50 3 for a fiver lol but thats not allowed no more but ive found that if you make friends with the people around you most are more than willing to share if they have it .. :beach::beach:

The whole site is licensed - that's why you're stuck having to go off-site for an off-license. It does seem to me like someone could make a killing setting one up in a local's field though

Local ciders are a great plan but taste first though!!!1 There are local ciders that will clean you out in a most unpleasant manner if your body's not used to it - on leaving monday some folk near us left two huge containers of cider.... I thought it was piss and tried to joke with them and they firmly told me it was the cider of the devil and must not be touched. The look on their faces told me they'd got through extra undies

I concur with this^

Cider is my preferred tipple but Cider is more miss than hit.

I'm always chasing ''Cider Farm'' signs when I'm in the west country and most of it is gut rot so don't just stop at a convenient farm on the way to Pilton do your research at beer/cider festivals then get the address of the one you like and visit the press on the way. :)

Thanks for the advice, i think ill play it safe and just stock up on booze at a supermarket.... I have always wanted to try the homemade cider as we dont realy see much of that back home. Although i dont think i would have the time to do much research
