Pedestrian Gate C - Hell Gate

My first time using this gate, what a f**kin nightmare. Took ages to get there by car over a rock track across fields, had an almighty walk through the campervans to get to the gate then had to negotiate a steep downhill chicane with my garden cart. Then haul myself and cart back up that hill and back to car on way back. Fortunately I'm pretty fit but people in the heat and sheer steepness were visibly flagging to point of near collapse on way up that hill. Never again if I can help it

Gate C worked a hell of a lot more smoothly this year than it did in 2011.

The "Hill of Death" is always a killer. We ended up in E8 which seemed like a real trek from gate C. Of course we left the wellies in the car and ended up going back for a third time to get them, which didn't help.

Gate C was far better this year than in 2011, about 3 hours better off actually! The hill isn't that bad really and the queues were pretty easy

It was much better this year especially because the weather was better. We were in e8 too. E9 in 2011. Long old walk over to woodsies. Pylon in 2011. space to camp again. We arrived at 10.30 Wednesday.

When we were all calling it the Hill Of Death did you think it was quaint?

It is a killer, but when you see how far uphill the Worthy View folk had to walk to get home every night it's all swings and roundabouts

It's called a hill, there are few in the countryside..And as for rocky tracks across roads....THINK OF THE PEOPLE!

Gate C was hell in 2011. I was at B at 7am this year which took me about an hour and a half/ two hours to get through, and my mates (who showed up at C at roughly the same time) were in and rang me from Pennards before we'd even reached wristband exchange.
