First time in East Caravan Field

So we've decided to ditch the tent this year and bought a cheap caravan. We're in East Caravan field. What's it like? Is the hill that bad? Queues getting in and out? Is there a good atmosphere on Tuesday?

Any info would be appreciated, help stop the mind wandering..too much. Cheers Glastonites.

We have been in there once in 2011 and will be there this year too.

It is quite peaceful...well it was where we were!

The hill is not that bad...until it gets muddy!!

I was greatful to have a pushchair to cling on to!!

We've been there for the last few Glastonburys. Always found a friendly bunch, especially on Tuesday evening as you get to know your neighbours.

The water supply can be a bit iffy at times for filling Aquarolls so I'd take an initial supply with you.

The Hill of Death is much over-stated. It's nothing like the trek up to the Stone Circle, a bit steeper but shorter though it could be a bit of a challenge if really muddy or if you're staggering back late at night a bit wasted.

If so, just pause half way up, turn round and enjoy the magnificent view.

Yeah we've decided on the caravan route this year after several years camping. East for us too. Getting there mid afternoon Tuesday and can't wait. Website seems to say we can't leave til Monday after 6. I've seen caravans leaving monday morning before. Is this a new rule?

Just had a quick look cos worried would have to stay put in CV field until 6pm Monday - think it means from 2pm Sunday you can only leave - it becomes a one way route so can leave but can't get in.

Never heard of this before? Usually they want you off by then. Unless they want to put on another festival day for us then I think many will by queuing up to leave on Monday morning

To enable traffic to exit the site, Blue Route becomes one-way outbound from 1400 hours Sunday

afternoon until 1800 hours on Monday evening. As a result, no vehicles can access the campervan/

caravan fields during this time. Please do not leave the campervan/caravan fields in your vehicle and

expect to get back to the fields during these times, or arrange for others to pick up during this period, as

access will be refused.

Ah-ha, i get it. We can saddle up and head north monday morning then. Cool. 6 more days......
