Never thought I would ever make a post like this but here it is

My other half has just found out she is to be made redundant on the 1st of March

so we can no longer afford the trip to Glasto as punters

So for you peeps that didn't get tickets back in October , keep the faith and have a good one for us :)

I can definitely vouch for volunteering. Apply for the Pre festival shifts with Oxfam and you will have a great time... You get longer on site enjoying the camping aspect and when the festival comes around you have the whole time free to yourself :-)

Thanks you for the replys, and sorry I didn't make it clear in the original post that I intend to get

work at the festival with Oxfam, as we have done in the past when unable to get tickets

This was due to the fact I was so pissed off with having to give the tickets back

As I said in the top post I hope someone on here gets them and they have a good one :)

Seconded, though you wont get to do any pre-festival shifts as those naturally coveted positions are reserved for a kind of 'inner-circle' of stewards and supervisors that have been doing it for years. You will get allocated 3 x 8h15min shifts anytime from Wed to Sun, typically in the form of an early AM shift (6am - 2pm), afternoon (2pm - 10pm) and a late night (10pm to 6am), and most likely manning one of the Ped Gates.

I hope she finds a new job soon!

I got made redundant in October, about a week after I failed to get tickets for Glasto - I started a new job in January & am hoping for some luck in the resale in a few weeks time - but I hope that she finds something quickly so yours aren't up for grabs! :)

Good luck to you both!

Not so true... They are starting to correct all that now and allocate prefestival shifts on a slightly more random basis. I got the Pre festival shifts at the last Glastonbury and I although I have work with Oxfam once before, I have never worked at Glastonbury before.

Good luck with both the job hunting and volunteering at Glastonbury.

In 2011 we missed out in the original sale and planned to try in resale then hubby lost his job. So horrible watching it on TV and although still skint am absolutely certain that I am not missing again and have been putting some money aside cos we know we can't afford it in one go.

Hope you make it!
