Y Not Festival

Came looking for a Y Not topic, but I'm not sure if there is one?

Anyone got any ideas who might be playing this year, I've got some high hopes for big names, e.g. Courteeners. I think they're down to earth enough to play such a small festival.

I considered them but then thought that they may be too big? They play slightly higher slots than most of Y Not's recent headliners at bigger festivals (especially with a successful new record this year), although as you say they're down to earth enough to maybe play such a small festival.

I've been wondering whether they're too big or not as well, but I honestly believe the Wombats and the View to be as big, maybe a little less, be an amazing booking if they did get them!

Hoping they'll have some heavier bands on Giant Squid this year, not really a fan of Lower than Atlantis-esque bands.

Y-Not have set high standards after the belter they put on last year but FT loves the festival so maybe he might make a return?

That would be a great booking, I'd love to see that, after winning best small festival this year, they really deserve another absolute stormer of a year

Anyone seen the new video they have posted with the headliner clues? Basically says that the three headliners are all male. One duo, one group of 3 and one group of 5. Makes loads of references to The Enemy as well so I'd say they're definitely headlining.

That's disappointing. The duo could be Hurts I suppose, they seem pretty high profile at the moment. If The Enemy are the three then who could be the five? The Horrors?

Yeah I'm guessing the five is The Horrors too. I did think Hurts at first too but it says the two wear casual sport shoes. Never seen Hurts in casual sports shoes. Can't think of any other two person male bands other than The Black Keys?

Just had a look through the news on here and The Enemy and The Horrors seem to be playing a few festivals Y Not size so would definitely say its them Really disappointed with that to be honest.

Have to agree. Any indication of when the first announcement is? I think the site's beeen saying 'very soon' since the back end of last week.

First announcement will be late this week or early next i reckon, keep teasing and teasing is the typical Y-Not style Love it !!!

But the five piece in my opinion is down to The Maccabees or The Horrors. The 3 piece be Feeder (but have already headlined y-not), The Enemy, The Fratellis or my ambition..Biffy Clyro !! epic. But with the duo, i can only imagine at Y-Not would still be out of place...Crystal Castles. Maybe the Proclaimers ? haha

Somebody on their fb has said Dan le sac vs scroobius pip for the duo... Makes sense with what they have described and they are playing another festival with The Horrors. Headliner though? Really?

They share acts with Truck because they are run by the same people (is it two brothers?) so you could quite easily have The Horrors, Dan Le Sac vs SP and Ash (are Ash a three? I have it in my head they are.)

The Enemy are confirmed for a festival called Strawberry Fields Festival which is a few days after Y-Not and is very close...so yeahhhh The Enemy are headlining Y-Not i reckon

The duo is dan le sac vs scroobius pip. Looks like no Y Not for me this year Not impressed with the headliners at all. Fingers crossed they completely shock me tonight and its not who everyone thinks it is!
