I really enjoyed doune the rabbit hole this year.

Completely disorganised, not enough food choices, camping just wherever you could find a spot, pissed down all weekend, no idea who was on where. No mobile signal. Was effing brilliant.

Nice, friendly, relaxed, beautiful scenery (its held in a fort!) cheap beer, could walk around with your own alcohol, food was gorgeous even though more choices for veggie would be good. Some amazing little bands and some great better known ones like king creosote, Malcolm Middleton, lovely eggs. Really small but still had six stages.

Loved it.

I guess it depends what you mean by rock/indie. In line with most mainstream festivals (T, V, R&L) trimming down their alt rock/indie there isn't really an small alternative rock festival. Blissfields, The Great Escape, No 6 and Y Not all have a decent amount of variety around the indie spectrum and a good range of folk/indie/pop and maybe reasonably heavy indie bands/rock (at Y Not) but nothing that could be described as rock on any sizeable scale.

I'm seriously looking at a festival like this next year, hopefully The Joy Formidable will be headlining one of them and make my decision for me.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
    • Interesting the stat guys say 3 points and -3 goal difference is where it gets to 50/50 territory in terms of going to the last 32. If Scotland lose their last 2 at best they are on -1, play like they did yesterday and they could take a heavy loss.   However thinking about it positively get 4 points from the last 2 games and the group is won! Have heard a few saying Scotland should just park the bus next 2 games, but not sure they have the players to do it. From my perspective they could really do with a decent defensive midfielder to add balance, but not sure if they have one in the squad. They also need significantly more from Mctominay who I thought was poor, but understand he has been unwell.
    • Yup and they aren't all going to get them, some are going to miss out. Speaking of this, I met someone at RIP who went to RFP and his view was band wise it's value for money but it wasn't a festival itself he'd be rushing to return to. In fairness as well he probably liked more of the headliners there than me this year whereas I was more undercard and he wasn't returning.
    • Maybe Starmer's legacy will be a war with Russia.
    • How were GnR? Seen some videos and pictures and let's just say, the crowd to the sides at the front and in front of the sound tents were let's just say... Sparse compared to LB.
