Hope this isn't the case, looks likely though. NoFX and Tenacios D are no longer rumours on here, don't know how long they've been removed for i haven't checked the rumours page in ages. I was really hoping The Gaslight Anthem were going to play the double slot, that would have been seriously cool.

Is it possible if(unless we get another announcement which we probably will having made this theory) that some form of unannounced set may have migrated to the Festival Republic Stage instead? I suppose this is me still hoping for a Gaslight Anthem/Horrible Crowes set, looking unlikely now unfortunately!

The first secret set (that I know of, maybe it happened at older Reading's) was Kaiser Chiefs 2007, billed as Hooks for Hands in the FR tent. Hooks for Hands were on the lineup for at least a month before the festival and I remember pointing out that they weren't a real band, but nobody took much notice. I called both the Pigeon Detectives and the Them Crooked Vultures sets a couple of years later too* and they were leapt on since people are expecting that sort of thing now. They've done it most years since but you'd think, since it's known about more and more every year, that they'll have to try harder to disguise them now. It's happened on every stage except the main now so look for 40 minute+ gaps in the lineup when you buy your timetable at the festival. It's probably unlikely we'll find out about them a long time before the festival anymore.

*I used to be the guy who did the Clashfinders before the excellent clashinder general site started so it was easy for me to notice
