It's a bit of both...you come up with a crap idea...you announce it...backlash.....Water it down... ????... PROFIT!!!

You have to question sometimes as to if they actually expected the backlash and it was all preplaned as they have had more backlash over the NHS than the fecking pasty tax

Apologies - I meant I'm not sure if my aversion to thinking about this government is crap, or self survival. It's plagiarised and I've mentioned it before, but there's only one person who entered parliament with honest intentions and that was Guy Falkes.

I know it's a quote, but I reckon some politicians have entered with honest intentions. Guy Fawkes was probably the only one who left with them though. I reckon trying to remain honest around lots of low-level corruption taints you until you become like the rest of them.

I really would like to believe that there are some politicians who enter parliament with honest intensions but I find it difficult to. It doesn't have to be money they are after. It could be power, kudos etc. I just don't think anyone enters there selfleshly with their whole moral fibre being to do good for the country.

On top of that they have the habit of behaving like school children. Have you heard Today in Parliament on Radio 4. I listen to them sometimes and think to myself ' Fuck me, these are the people running the country'. Still, somebodies got to do it and none of us want the job!

I think the problem is that it attracts the wrong kind of people. The people who want power enough to go through the hoops to get it aren't the ones suitable to wield it...

Yup I reckon most of them start off in local party politics with good intentions, but soon realize they have to be part of the system and play the game of party politics. Shifting moral stances for a vote here and there and towing the party line to stand any chance of getting into the big house.

Maybe it should be done a bit like jury service? We can maybe vote for some general policies to guide and maybe the ministers from those selected?

They want to be in power because that is all they want. Our politicians are entirely self-serving, bred for power not effective management of resources. They appear to have no clue because they have no clue. The tool of their profession is deceit because that's what gets their job done; acquisition of power. Nothing is ever done because it is morally or scientifically sound for the good of the majority, it is done because it will keep those in power where they are.

Their incompetence in their sole area of expertise will be proven the day heads literally start rolling. History is bound to repeat itself because we put the same fucknuts in charge of the same system that has continually failed the masses.

Our 'leaders' are technically insane - repeating the same actions expecting a different result. They aren't interested in reform of any meaningful sort because it's ok for them, and because it attracts power hungry psychopaths it is foolish to believe they have anyone else's interests at heart. Politicians are like dodgy mechanics - fixing a broken engine isn't in their interests, it's more profitable to fuck the mechanisms up even further so their business is invaluable. In this backwards fucked up world, It isn't in a politicians interests to fix anything, just like any other industry that operates within a monetary system. Fixing problems is now antithetical to a politicians role. They are entirely dependant on people remaining docile and thick - their profession is all about bringing everyone down to their level and climbing over us and they use the illusion of democracy to do it.
