Cure, Kasabian, Foos is good, but doesn't seem like "THE line-up of line-ups" from the perspective of the general public. Seems generally equal to last year if not slightly lower.

Last year also had a top charting British band (Muse), one of the most popular international bands (MCR), and an older British band (Pulp)

Is Neil sure the Cure won't sub?

Thing is, bestival isn't as accessible as Leeds or reading is.

If I was a massive cure fan, I still wouldn't want to travel to iow to see them. Whereas if they were playing closer, I'd be much more likely to buy a day ticket. Going to the isle of wight for one day to see a band is a big ask.

Does anyone else think the Cure can't compete with the other headliners.

I know album sales don't reflect much, but the Cure charted 33 with their last album.

Kasabian and Muse have had solid 1's, Pulp, the strokes, even the Maccabees have done much better.

Has Neil confirmed the Cure are headlining solo, or does anyone else think it will be like Pulp/Strokes last year.

I've been a Cure fan for years - not one of my favourites but always loved the creativity and variety in their music.

For that reason I was really excited about their Bestival slot last year but, when it came to it, they were really just a bit tedious and they played for what must have been 2 1/2 hours. I wouldn't go and see them at a festival again.

You can't have been watching the same set as me.... I considered them a really good band before seeing them at Bestival, but now I count them as a favourite and a must-see whenever possible. A long set crammed full with hits, variety and energy. Absolutely brilliant.

Although their clearly worthy headliners, i think most people who go will be day ticketers, looking for some nostalgia (obviously this is gonna cause some teenager to come on and state their love and their friends love for the cure, but judging from college and now uni ive met about 3 people who like them). Also, id be much more excited if they had a normal slot, but if like people say and they play for hours i think id end up getting bored, not many bands who i could watch for 3 hours straight without either getting tired or bored. But still, really going to try and get into them, as Two door cinema club etc arent filling me with much excitement.
