The leaked, cancelled Van Halen dates & the Download forum mods stating that The Prodigy were announced practically immediately after they were signed. The term 'last minute' is relative as Sabbath were apparently booked a year in advance, same (almost) with Metallica.

it might make sense, but it conflicts with some very solid info that's come my way. I don't think there's anything to it.

Were the 'cancelled' Van Halen dates not true then? From Mr Copping's reaction it all seemed like that's how it played out? Publicly calling them d*cks suggests something happened?

I've no idea on the truth or not of that story.

fair play...while I've got you, do you have any other DL rumours? It's pretty quiet this year on the leakage front.

nope, but not really chased anything around download anyway. With the headliners announced so early the little time I've had for rumours has been mostly focused elsewhere.

Theres been loads of acts announced for download and when things like Shinedown get leaked Andy just confirms it. All the big acts are pretty much done.

I don't think Chase n Status should in that slot, aren't they about as popular as Pendulum were in 2009 when they were 3rd down? I think the only reason they're 2nd instead of 3rd is cus Chase n Status into Machinehead into Prodigy doesn't flow as well. Otherwise Machinehead are clearly the bigger act.

I had no idea C&S toured so much.

I still think its a bizzarre placement but if The Prodigy wanted them there, fair enough. Id have put Chase N Status, Sunday Second stage headliner, moved MachineHead up to sub Prodigy and put Rise Against under MachineHead. But thats just me...
