I think it depends when you get there, the earlier you get there the closer you will be. They've said on the FB page the drop off point is 15 minutes or slightly quicker up hill from the queue but it was nothing like that at all in 2010.

Just a small question of the lineup, i'm not massively accustomed to the majority of the lineup but will be going on the Saturday or Sunday and hoping to see Utah Saints, Spector, Feeder, Tribes, James, King Charles and my friends band Vinyl Jacket who are on Calling Out and I would recommend people go see provided there are no clashes. Was just wondering if there is anyone lower down on the bill that could be recommended particularly maybe an acoustic artist in the Ed Sheeran sort of mould. Anyway any tips on who to head over and see would be great!

If anyone needs any last minute camping supplies head to your nearest Sports Direct, looks like they've got a sale on the go.

Picked up a camping pillow, foot pump, torch and a couple of bottles of the medium size Campingaz for less than a tenner.

Any idea why if coming from the North I need to travel on down to J39 then double back up through Shap?

I want to nip into Morrisons in Penrith which I would then join the A6 and travel the 5 miles down the road to the site.

But the website says I need to go down the M6 to J39 and then double back? This will add another 16 miles and 20 minutes onto my journey.

Enjoy your Thursday guys, wish we had got sorted for getting onsite on earlier, it'd be good if somebody could give us the heads up on the forum about what to expect. Weather forecast looks to be improving very slightly every time I look at the BBC site, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Hopefully see some of you at the Friday meet, 2pm left hand side of the Real Ale bar, provided the tent pitching goes to plan (we had a deer shit / thistle problem last year..)

Do we go with our forum names, or do I have a load of proper names to learn? (might be difficult after getting stuck into the Kendale)

    • That leaker off Instagram was saying earlier this year that Nickelback are doing a tour with Broco and Wargasm, but no evidence as yet
    • Gojira are unoficially confirmed by the organisation at Hellfest since last December already.   Slayer was supposed to be this year as a Mainstage 2 headliner at the place of Volbeat for a thrash day but negotiations fell off. Very likely to be there next year.    MCR I didn't know about but it fits well with Hellfest's desire to keep one day as more punk/rock orientated.    Europe are a confirmed headliner for Sweden Rock 2027. They will not headline HF but we may seem them on the bill. I am very curious who will be the legacy bands next year at HF. There was some backlash after 2025 and a bit of a return to heavier metal on the bill in 2026 - e.g. Gatekeeper on the main stage. The only considerable legacy acts I see coming (if they are in Europe) and haven't been at HF for a while are Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Slash, FFDP (if you count them as legacy), ZZ Top, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I really hope they manage to pull sth big for the 20th anniversary like AC/DC.
    • Looking forward to Doja Cat letting us all know what is going on later on today. It is a good job that somebody is keeping us informed.
    • They've got a few gigs in Dec/Jan.  Hoping to pick up a couple of tickets for Margate later today
