Each year Sziget has some shitty headliner. Luckily the other acts usually make up for that!

Headliners in the past five years:

2011: Prince, Pulp, The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, 30STM and White Lies.

2010: Faithless, Iron Maiden, Muse, The Specials, 30STM and Madness.

2009: The Prodigy, Faith No More, Fatboy Slim, Placebo and Lily Allen.

2008: Iron Maiden, Jamiroquai, The Killers, The Kooks, R.E.M. and Sex Pistols.

2007: Manu Chao, Chemical Brothers, Madness, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Faithless and The Killers.

Based on efests announcement i'm not sure Placebo are headlining. Certainly no mention. I'd be happy if they were a sub to someone else for sure.

Very pleased to see The Horrors announced, poor sound in the JP tent at Glastonbury ruined their set last year so hoping this will make up for it.

Got to be honest......Very disappointing additions in my humble opinion.

There is only 1 band I want to see so far, The Stone Roses, and I'm going to Heaton Park to see them. With flights SO expensive to Budapest at the moment.....I think I may just wait for further announcements until I decide whether to book on or not.

The only thing for sure about Hurts, is they will be playing on Main Stage this year. Last year they played the A38 tent, a step up to a headline slot would be very surprising. I wouldn't worry for that!

Placebo may well be headlining, as they have headlined before, but even for them this hasn't been officially confirmed (@Sziget isn't an official twitter account). But hey, Sziget is 7 days, so they'll always have some good and some bad headliners. Just like there will always be many bands you like and many bands you don't like. Only nine acts of 1,000 have been announced so far, nothing to worry about!

    • Nearly half owed to UK pension funds and banks, a third to foreign investors and the rest to the Bank of England.  We can say we won't pay the interest or the loans back but who would lend us 100 billion again next year? The Bank of England are selling their portion  at the moment which I read is making things worse so we should tell them to stop but I don't really understand why that is.
    • Gotta be worth a bump for old times sake
    • Let's hope you're right - having secret set by Olivia Rodrigo would be huge. It might even overshadow the Thursday trainwreck.   We'll see in a couple of hours.
    • Yet again we’re missing the WH Sunday reggae slot
    • Occident has got larger over the years and there's relatively little overlap with mbv and OR fans that I think it would work fine as it would divide the crowd so effectively.   They don't even need to give the biggest stage from an optics perspective either, this would be billed as a secret short set and used to promote her new album.
